I would have thought it was obvious given we had been in league one for a whole season and 6 games before page was appointed Vale manager.

When a load of garbage and irrelevant waffle was also included and the post was just skimmed it is easy to see how it happens. The team RP inherited at Northampton was tatally irreloevant to the posts .

Anyhow, I would have thought you woulod be more concerned with you own post that included incorrect informationn to try and support a very tenuous point you wre trying to make, not a very good ploy on a Port Vale fans website.

we would still have had duffy and co streete would have gone and smith would still have been at torquay most probably.

When did the fans' forum long before the end of the season, Norman actually said that our central defence this season would be Smith and Streete.

Agreed. I don't think the guy went to the game. I wonder if it was our dear friend Michael. Amoros was superb on Saturday and yet given a 5. Come clean The Sentinel you weren't there.

It wasn't Michael Baggaley. He did not do the report or the marks because he wasn't at the game. Not that this ever stops folk on here marking players!!

Well you must be one hell of a fine fellow. What Smurf did in June/July would be disgsusting to the majority of Vale fans, would you have liked that done to you at your place of work, the answere would be no and if it had happened you'd have squealed like a little pig.

Total rubbish, McGivern had been let go and there was every chance Page or a new manager would have give both a chance, you have no evidence or basis to say that. Rob Page sent Smith on loan to Torquay for a purpose, think about it.

Again total rubbish, Page or a new manager most certainly wouldn't have bought in so many players who are not up to league 1 standard and hence there would have been funds to buy quality players like Jones and Taylor.

Your reply is as stupid as stupid gets.

Complete tripe, Page was re-signing a load of players who ended up leaving and are now struggling in league two let alone league one. Nothing like making up a load of nonsense to try and cover up your hypocritical and daft post. The fact you have used so many ifs, buts and maybes pretty much sums your points up to a tee. Page would have released smith and streete, duffy would have stayed and we would be bottom 4. Thank god he left.

Page was not actually re-signing anyone. He was making much reduced offeres to players already on the staff, knowing that they were probably as good as or better than what he could get for the same money elsewhere. Streete was under contract so could not have been released. Smith was under contract so could not have been released. Duffy left because the offer made to him was derisory as a result of Page being given a considerably lower budget than last season. There is no way on earth Duffy would have stayed on the money being offered - he was offered more at non-League Eastleigh for heaven's sake.

What a fascinating juxtaposition of styles on Saturday!

Watching Vale was more like watching Rochdale, Posh, or, dare I say, Crewe.

Cobblers were like a decent Vale 4th division promotion outfit of any period you choose.

No wonder we kicked off facing the Bycars end!

Posh have Michael Bostwick.

Big, very powerful, no nonsense type.

Add one or two like him and this would be a very strong team.

Another goldfish moment, Paul? there was nothing irrelevant or waffled - you just admitted skipreading it...by irrelevant you mean it was a different opinion to yours - a sure sign of self-delusion?...oh - and my posts are never tatally or irreloevant! Silly ****!!!
