It's clearly a load of rubbish. It's a journalist taking a quote (which in itself is doubtful he even said it) from Mourinho about Balotelli needing to leave and making one plus one equal ten. There's nothing in there apart from guesswork I reckon.

 

Firstly Liverpool would want to allow someone who they could potentially sell for money (someone may still want to pay a couple of million for him) to drop to League One and potentially get clobbered. I doubt they'd do that.

 

The player also has to agree to move and I can't see how he's going to see a drop to League One as enticing.

 

I think the journalist's thought process has been - > I see Jose has told Mario to leave -> I wonder where Jose would recommend he goes? --> Hold on doesn't Jose have friends at Wolves and Port Vale? --> Ah, I think I have a story for the newspaper...

 

If you read about the Jose - Balotelli meeting in other newspapers they say Jose told him to "change his attitude" - there's no mention of touting a move to Wolves or Vale in those papers...

Balotelli will not be coming to Vale. I think the source was an off the cuff joke from Mourinho saying he will end up there. I can't see it. Even if he did come here, he'd only disrupt things. In the off chance he actually played well, there is nothing to motivate him staying here. He does not love playing football enough to simply do it for games.
