I wish i didn't have to agree with whatever Ray says but he always has a point. He is not being negative without reason to be.

I don't really care if he meant what he said or not! That excuse is so bad and worn out, it doesn't count as an excuse anymore.

The point is he said it, on a Vale show, again and again, as if he wanted to make sure everybody got his point, and in a manor that UKIP are almost proud of him!!!

I, as a foreigner, took heavily offence to what he said! And I don't take offence easily, believe you me!

Anyone else think that the Radio Stoke team are not as negative with Crewe or Stoke though? I do feel Ray Williams jumps to the dark side of things far too quick compared to the other clubs teams.

I'd rather listen to 10 words from Ray Williams than 1000 words from Smurthwaite. At least Ray knows something about football. I only heard his review of the game when I got back to the car but it largely tallied with what I thought, and it seems most others thought. Poor first half, livened up by the goal, better second half particularly when De Frietas came on.

I've never heard a bad word about Crewe on there. When the protests over Steve Holland were happening, they used to rubbish protesters saying it's not the Crewe way. It was only when someone got wind that SH was about to go that the tone changed.

 

Radio Stoke's coverage of Crewe is so sycophantic it's laughable. There is being biased and then there is just being under their thumb. Unfortunately their team seem more keen on being part of the old boys club than being objective.

Course you did! Is there any way the commentary can be listened back to. I'd reccomend anyone who didn't hear it listen to the first half commentary and make your own mind up. It was bang out of order in 2016 now you're squirming out with a ready made (by Geo) excuse. Why would their nationality matter?

Of course not, I would prefer to not have to listen to offensive and xenophobic comments when listening to commentary on Vale though. A non UK based Valiant has said he found the comments offensive too and others have said his commentary is unnecessarily negative too. So an apology followed by a flimsy excuse doesn't really wash with me.

I didnt find his comments offensive in the slightest so i guess it's all about opinions.... once again.
