ronan hale?

Wouldn't mind him, 28 goals this season 😂😂😂😂

Ronan Hale and defender Corey O'Keeffe are in the Republic of Ireland Under-18s squad for their friendly international against Germany next week.

The game is being played in Rüsselsheim am Main on Wednesday 11 May and the Germans will provide stiff opposition for the Republic, having reached the UEFA Championship Final last year.

It is a first international call-up by the Republic for Hale, who joined Blues at the start of the season.

He has been a standout performer during his first season at the Club, finding the back of the net an impressive 28 times.

The Belfast-born 17-year-old was rewarded with his first professional contract in March.

Meanwhile, O'Keeffe, who plays as a full-back has been at Blues since joining the Academy in 2008.

Born in Birmingham, he attended Baverstock School.

back on topic, if we are signing a striker on a permanent basis.................what happens with hooper, forrester, cecilia, seleiro as surely one of them will not get a shout in?

You need to address that problem with the bloke that signed them

Just can't see Smurf spending on the wages of someone like Blackstock, an almost proven Championship striker. If so, Nicky Maynard wouldn't have been a bad shout, but he's back with MKD now. As for Armstrong, no chance, according to the Chronicle, Newcastle will be deciding on his future soon, but there's been interest from 15-20 clubs, so we'll be easily outfought, especially as some of them will be Championship too.

Alex Jones from Brum according to McGarry via a PM to someone. Another young unproven striker. Really don't see the point.

How can Gillingham get players like JET on not much bigger gates yet we get a load of unproven kids.

I'm rea

I'm really starting to question whether the figure of £2.5mil budget was just to try and build the buzz. Understandable if true as he gets slated for being negative. However to then expect Bruno to get top 6 on a reduced budget is unfair.

Might as well play our own Dan Turner instead of loaning a kid with no experience who isn't ours...so much for the proven striker smurf said he was on the hunt for

That's the thing, what is the point in bringing in a youngster with no experience, to loan out another youngster with no experience in Dan Turner? I know their ability level will be slightly different, but still, if we bring someone in who doesn't even look like an improvement on the current forward line, may as well not even bother.

Cant believe some of the comments on here, how were we going to afford the likes of Jay Emmanuel Thomas, he is probably on about 10k a week, some others mentioned on here, the likes of Blackstock, Fryatt, Washington (he cost nearly 3 milllion), all will be on stupid money. Gillingham averaged nearly 1500 a game more than us last season so not sure we can compete with them.

There are some really good young players to be had from premier and championship teams and people saying we should not be bringing them in. Coventry brought in Adam Armstrong last year, don't think many would have heard of him before then and a few other really good signings from premier teams in the opening 6 months when they were top of the league.

The year before Swindon nearly got promoted with a large number of unknown young players from the likes of Spurs and Liverpool, Brentford the year before had a number of players from Chelsea and got promoted.

Oh come on dickos fighting spirit was fist pumping to the crowd and pointing at the space he should be in shouting at another player. He wasn't a good player and is now at his level in league two.

Oh come on dicko was part of the defence that got battered at

I have a different opinion, Dicko epitomised a never say die attitude, he was competitive and drove the team forward, he wasn't appointed captain because of his good looks. He also had a decent left foot. Fifty eight goals conceded last season (5 in the last game) is a fact which tends to go against the statement, "defence that got battered", if vale's defense got battered last season it's heaven help the other 12 or so defenses, many of whom conceded far more goals than Vale's defense.

If it is Jones, who at the club will have seen him play?

Who has scouted all the close season signings? Traditionally a club scout then the manager would watch a player numerous times before a decision was made, seems to me its a random thing now, whose available ? How much? You'll do......
