OVF Competitions in Numbers

5th August, 2006 to 5th August, 2016

Personal Note:

Karl Proctor's aka werstayinup suggestion to conduct a 'Guess the 1st Goal' competition c2006 gave rise for me putting a little 'pelf' into the 'Club's coffers and for doing my bit for all things Port Vale. Then, with Onevalefan providing the perfect platform to run the competitions - and Andy Burgess arranging 'Club Shop vouchers for the winners the rest, as we say, is history.

Yes thanks Barry, not a regular guesser myself but have enjoyed partaking just recently and have even 'won' on 1 occasion. Will do my utmost to join in the fun more often.

BTW isn't it about time Spunkers went into retirement to give us newbies a fighting chance:-)

Yes Nelly', you are one of the many who join in as and when you remember

In truth Karl, it was your suggestion to conduct a 'Guess the 1st Goal' competition that gave raise for me putting a little 'pelf' into the 'Club's coffers and for doing my bit for all things Port Vale. Then, with Onevalefan providing the perfect platform to run the competitions - and Andy Burgess arranging 'Club Shop vouchers - the rest, as we say, is history.

My belated thanks as well, Barry.

Your contribution to this site, in very many ways, is inestimable, and we're all delighted to see your continuing commitment to your beloved Port Vale, from so far away. We could all learn from your unwavering support, through good times and bad.

Thank you - you are a star.

We are truly fortunate to have someone like Barry who gives generously both in terms of finance, and just as importantly (if not more so) his time and effort, to allow us to enjoy such a superb competition with great prizes. I've enjoyed winniong it many times and am very grateful for the many things it has enabled me to get at the club shop.

It surprises me how some games almost everybody is way out, we've even had games where the crowd was lower then anyone guessed I think.

I'd love to know who the 5 'very serious'; and the 15 'some thought' people are and see a top ten winners table, but maybe making that public is tricky.

Thanks again Barry for what m,ust surely be the best free football competition on the whole internet.

David, given you are currently 2nd on the OVF GTC Leader Board with 24 prizes I can say you are one of the 5

The other Qs are easy to answer and I'll get to them later.
