What a daft presumption.. Smurf has constantly done right by the club and if we were to receive £1mill+ then I have no doubt that this would be reinvested and would go along way to next years budget.

I would take anything north of 500k with a few clauses and would consider that very good business.

Would be a player we could afford to lose with Neal in the wings but with 2 and a half years left on his current deal we are in a great position to demand a great fee for him.

 

£750k plus add ons would be decent. Would like him to stay mind!

He wont make back his losses.. He knows this. I would be very surised if the club was owned by somebody else this time next year.

He's on a fat contract, & I see no reason why we can't be ambitious & demand a million. Knowing Vale (since I've been going anyway), we've been fairly useless in past dealings, and would probably end up settling for £300K, but it'd be nice to see us go for a decent amount, especially with a owner who is currently very focused on the money situation.

In my opinion I'd like to see him stay. Looks like he's enjoying his football and developing. HE can get better and we can get more for him if/when he does want to go at a later date.

I wouldnt blame smurf if he sold for a mil then pocketed it. Lets face it hes put 2m + in basically funding the team . We have a good enough replacement in Neal and only really need a forward, which looks like smurf will be funding this window anyway.

if we sell for anything less than 1 million then the person sanctioning the sale wants sectioning . alnwick is quality and will only get better , he will play championship level minimum in his future career.

If the story and the price is right, he'll no doubt go. Much as I'd be sad to see the loss of a quality player, it's the one position where there's plenty of cover.

£1million for a goalkeeper anywhere is on the high side, let alone one in the 3rd division--get real!
