Once again unable to get back to back wins, this blame should fall with the manager and his motivational skills.

 

Had the chance to make 5 changes and give fringe players ago but obviously has no faith in them.

 

Retention list has to be looked at again, Lloyd and Yates nowhere near the squad in a Micky mouse cup game. Birchall on the bench week in week out yet never gets game time, what is his job from the bench, he doesn't come on when we're winning, doesn't come on when we're losing. If page isn't go to play them, why retain them. Not that I think any of them should be near the squad. Current 11 have no competition for their places.

 

How will we know if hooper is any good if he doesn't get game time.

We are an inconsistant side and wins over Wigan and Sheffield, because of their stature, paper over the cracks which are during the course of a 46 game season we cannot rely on Uche to bang in 35 goals at least.

Daniel, Leitch Smith and Dodds will be lucky to get 15 between them.

 

JJ Hooper should have played tonight. The lad has had 7 weeks now. Thats more than a pre season.

Either play him Page or let us know why. Because our striking options, Uche excluded, are woeful.

Awful game of football, think when it comes to this competition next year, I will take the players attitude and can't be bothered and give it a miss. I couldn't think of anyone who stood out tonight.

 

Blackpool were very poor and this was a massive opportunity missed, win and in the area quarters and you could be playing the likes of Morecambe or York.

 

Fingers crossed Streete is ok because I really fear the worst if we have McGivern out there on Saturday. The old problem of defending set plays is here yet again and seems we have learned nothing from last season, think in last 7 games, we have conceded from set plays in 6 of them, becoming embarassing again while never look like scoring from our own.

 

One final point, if JJ isn't going get a game tonight, don't think we will be seeing him anytime soon in a Vale shirt.

How can you blame Page when it was almost the same team that won on Saturday, doesn't that kind of performance (or lack of) lie solely at the players door

I'm not sure it was a foul in the first place, looked like Duffy was being fouled, however have got go start defending them so much better.

 

How their player didn't get a red for the pen

Referee was having a good game until;

1. He failed to show Patterson a second yellow for kicking Alnwick

2. Failed to send off the 15 for the penalty decision

3. Have a free-kick against Duffy when he was clearly the one being fouled

 

That said we got what we deserved, terrible performance and Dodds (defend tonight's performance of you can Owd) and Moore in particular were an embarrassment.
