**** poor, how can we be so awful after being so great at home to the blunts on Saturday? totally inconsistent and fingers have to be pointed equally at the players and the management. this inconsistency has been going on for far too long and is the reason attendances aren't improving at all with the games we win. id be interested to know pages win ratio since he took over from MA. anyone?

O'Connor is a good player and will certainly improve our chances at free kicks but I am not convinced his corners are any better than what we have at the moment. I would also leave a couple of our players upfront on opposition corners. For example I am not sure how Andoh helps our situation at corner kicks. It will also occupy some of their defenders and make our penalty less crowded.

Sorry I predicted the correct score for last night. Though many of us might see this as a non-event and therefore not much of a. biggie to get knocked out, it's still a road, or country lane to Wembley.

Twice winners.1993,Vale's first ever appearance at Wembley.2001 Millenium stadium Cardiff. It would be nice to get to the 'new' Wembley BL.

My first home game attended this season and it compounded my decision to stay away as it's as crap as I remembered it was from last season

A mid table finish and a trip to Wembley would mark a good season for me. We're nowhere near promotion material but I think (hope?) we aren't bad enough to go down.

The amount of free headers other teams have against us is frightening! Are we 'too nice' when it comes to defending them?

According to wiki the win ratio is 36.36%.

The inconsistency is enough to drive you nuts and it was no surprise to me that the team lost last night. The frustrating thing is that we can see the team is capable, but, really, we have to be beating teams like Blackpool at home, no matter what the competition. There can be no excuses for what is a very poor result.

Auto Windscreens Shield final '99. Total heartbreak. Losing to a last-minute of extra time goal AND losing to Wigan, just imagine that! 8,000 they had, us 44,000. Went with my GF of the time. Why did Nethercott head the ball out like that, straight to their forward, why didn't he clear it properly upfield? These and other questions like why are we all here in the first place will remain unanswered for eternity.

Totally agree can't remember when I last enjoyed a midweek match

It's such a gloomy and depressing stadium to visit at night, especially during the winter months. Poor football and entertainment only compounds the enjoyment.

It's a shame to crash out of this cup, as I genuinely felt we could and would, do well in this competition this year.

Blackpool could have scored from every corner they had. We did not win one ball. I agree with a previous poster that our system for marking players from set pieces is simply not working. Whether it is the system that is wrong, or simply that our players are not good enough to cope with it, it must now be changed. It is not working. I hope I am wrong but last night's game showed that Michael Brown is not good enough anymore. Before the game, I expressed my concern that I could not see any attacking creativity from central midfield and my fears were proved correct. Why Hooper was not on the bench is a total mystery for such a match. Yes, the buck stops with the players for such an abject performance but the management team must also shoulder responsibility for a lack of positivity in team selection.
