What is the point of bringing Hooper on for 5 minutes??? Why was Birchall picked - want are we possibly going to learn about him that he don't already??! And Daniel?

 

I'm baffled by Page, I really am. Our first 11 play some blinding football but we've got some absolute rubbish as back up that really should have ditched at the end of last season.

Fact is Carlisle would probably have been a bit more up for it than we would have been. I don't know why the likes of Hooper and Leitch-Smith weren't given a run out from the start and yet Birchall, who is very lucky to still be at the club, was. Can someone tell me what he actually offers the team? And please don't say experience, it's not like we don't have enough of that despite having a number of young players. JJ Hooper being given a grand total of 4 minutes is a joke.

 

We're through, we kept another clean sheet and we didn't pick up any injuries it seems. That's about as positive as things get from tonight.

Rubbish performance and we didn't deserve to win.

 

Carlisle created far more chances and their top scorer, Ibehre (who was on the bench till the 60th minute), had 3 clear-cut opportunities he should have buried. We lacked the urgency in our passing that we've seen so far this season.

 

However, another clean sheet and a win. Improvement needed for league games though.

I know Birchall is way past his best but at least he understands the main function of a winger which is to get to the byeline and cross. Enoch, for all his trickery, hardly ever does that. I wish he would commit his fullback more down the line than he does. And before you start, I'm not saying Birchall is better than Enoch.

I'm pleased we've got through and yet again a clean sheet. As for Birchall being picked well why shouldn't we play him. while he can't beat a man on the wing any longer he's not a bad midfielder. He is a bit hefty but I don't think he deserves the criticism he sometimes gets.

I do understand what you are saying in regard to Enoch. He is very exciting to watch but at the moment there is no real end product. I'm sure that with good coaching this will come but it is frustrating at the moment because the side urgently in need of goals. Uche has three goals but I think that one the little bit of evidence that I have seen Hooper looks the better option because he can at least hold the ball and his control is light years better than the big fella's

Very poor all round, no one in particular was as bad as anyone else. Cannot think of who the hell I would pick for Man of the Match!

 

Toothless again up front, and felt the ball was on a piece of elastic for the last 40 minutes. How Carlisle did not score I do not know!

 

Frustrating as hell, and you can bank on us having plenty of 1 - 0's this season or easily 0 - 1's.
