The last 30 people to leave the Co-op building near the railway side of the ground moved into our building in Meir today, one of the guys said that Vale had bought it to secure the use of the car park on match days. Anybody heard if this is true?:

Read somewhere on here quite recently that Norman was attempting to buy the land for car park use. Seems good idea to me that he secures that piece of land and make some cash for the Vale.

I wonder if there are would be any brown field or regeneration type grants available?

smurf did mention that he was after that ground,the possibilities are endless ,an indoor market,outdoor market, car parking on match days as now,indoor training gym,offices to let,rallies,exhibitions,food fairs,auctions, antique fairs, the list is endless,go to it norman.

I was genuinely sat in a pub on Friday when I overheard two old duffers discussing whether it was worth going to Vale anymore as they parked there and would be losing their car park spaces.

 

One actually said 'it's ****** ridiculous a football club without a car park'.

 

Now correct me if I'm wrong but Vale never earned a penny from the fiver a time it costs to park on there? And the ignoramus neglected to think of the clubs two own car parks you can pay to park on along with the copious amounts of street parking all around the ground.

 

I honestly thought the two old guys would be on here later that day saying they weren't going again until the club rectified the problem with the private car park that had nothing to do with the club they used!

 

One thing is for sure if there is value / a bargain in the deal to be had our property mogul Smurf will sniff it out!

Going on abt smurf buying land....i know a football team who play at Bradeley, and they told me last week that smurf has brought the 2 pitches inside the fences and changing rooms,and he's stopped playing on a Saturday.

Why he's brought them is anyone's guess.

I believe that Smurf has viewed the site made an offer that was rejected but they are now saying that they wont allow it to be used for car parking and have put an asking price of 1.25m on it

1.25 million is reasonable for 5 acres of land and a 46.000 so ft building. Petrol station is a bit of a liability though.
