I believe that Smurf has viewed the site made an offer that was rejected but they are now saying that they wont allow it to be used for car parking and have put an asking price of 1.25m on it

I posted this yesterday Yukon,i believe what is said there is 100% true

I still don't get the "who"- I'm not being difficult. What i think you mean is if you are saying that he approached the seller purely over the sale of the car park, not including the office, then I get that as it would render the sale of the building incredibly difficult. If though he went in for the lot, I can't see how he couldn't use the car park for it's prescribed use.

On another note, the cheap price should put the ground/ club/ different company neh sayers back in their boxes.

Just to confirm that the main Port Vale car park was indeed sold to the Co-op Group during the 1971 -72 season by the then chairman Graham Bourne for £30,000. Graham Bourne resigned sometime later that season. I believe his business interests included a holiday camp and that he died from a heart attack not too long after leaving Port Vale.

The late 1960's into the 1970's were a huge struggle for the Vale and its fans, so £30,000 helped to keep the club going. No biscuit tins in those days !!!!!!!!!

The last 30 people to leave the Co-op building near the railway side of the ground moved into our building in Meir today, one of the guys said that Vale had bought it to secure the use of the car park on match days. Anybody heard if this is true?:

Where in Meir?
