JMW - Would you welcome him back?

Bet JMW got a fair bit of a payout as well. I believe Streete was actually at the end of his contract but if Newcastle hadn't released him they could have held out for a fee by offering to renew it.

No JMW didn't get a pay out why would he agreed for the contract to be cancelled. Now if he was happy on his contract and wanted to stay but Scunny released him on a free then they would have to pay up.

We'll give Lines a payout to sign for Bristol Rovers - to compensate for a lower salary in a lower league. Dinning took a payout to sign for us a few years ago. Its what clubs do to get rid of relatively well paid players a manager doesn't want.

No sorry if Lines wants to leave Vale and go to Bristol and all parties are happy no payout is needed. Vale get a high earner off the wages, Bristol get the player the want for free and Lines plays first team football for a club he wants to. Did we have to pay Adams off when he walked away? We would of had to if we sacked him, but because he walked away he broke his contract with the club so we had to pay him nothing

Absolutely not he was terrible and one dimensional for us first time round so u reckon he went to Scunny and improved in ability and attitude sat on the bench or at Tranmere where he did jack ****? Can't believe we're even discussing this.

I wouldn't have him back but you are completely wrong... Terrible first time round? He got in team of the season....

I'd like to see us think outside the box of old fashioned wingers / 4-4-2 / big target man up front. I'm not saying we should never play like that but we have to acknowledge that modern football is different and we have to adaptable. Hopeful percentage balls will only get you so far.

We need players who can play wide in a front three as comfortably as they can in a 4-4-2.

It's perhaps best not to go back but he was one of our best players for two years and on his day is as good as any winger at this level - strong, quick, sets up chances and scores goals, as well as taking a decent penalty and putting the ball in the net from 25 yards.

Comments on here about how poor he was are ridiculously absurd.

The thing that frustrated fans about him was his work-rate and effort sometimes. He could look lazy and disinterested.

But his stats are fantastic when he was here - creating opportunities for others and scoring goals himself.

He ran riot against us for Scunthorpe before being stupidly sent off and is a player with loads of ability. He was always double marked and our main danger man.

I'm happy to let the manager decide but he's proven at this level and didn't miss many games through injury.

The problem is - he doesn't seem to have fitted in anywhere except here.

Poor work rate - ****

Scored goals - ****

Often went walk about - oh yes he did , sometimes looked like he was thinking about shopping in matalan

Didn't last long at any club - **** even Vale, where he had his best spell

two years older - ****

Failed at Tranmere under Micky Adams - who got the nvery best out of him at Vale.

At best I would want him back on a "pay as you play" or on a salary that was noticably below the rest of the wingers.

May sound hard but he imagined that he could do better than the Vale and it has not happened so why should we spend very good money just to remind him every day that he was tool to jump ship.

He could dribble past a defender run with speed then cut inside and shoot, sometimes on target, but his assists as a winger were insufficient. He went for glory too often when he shouild have assisted.

There are better wing men around.
