Smurf has tweeted he has spent a lot of time on that project,I'd be dissapointed if he didn't sign.

Smurf has said signing Inniss will complete the defensive signings.....which would be four centre backs.....Inniss and Streete first choice with

Duffy(Wales) and McGivern(N.Ireland) as cover....Veseli at right back with Yates as cover and Deen-Conteh pushing Dickinson for the left back spot.

 

Just to add Smith is a second year professional centre back and one of the youth graduate first year professionals is a centre back...then also

Daniel can play left back while new left wing signing Kelly has played left back.

I'm excited see what strikers come in, by my reckoning we need 2 starters and possibly a 3rd as cover

Just been thinking of possible players who could improve our squad for next season that we may be within our budget and that may be in the realms of realistically being able to sign.

 

There will no doubt be some interesting players released from League 1 and Championship teams but I'm currently looking at players who may be looking for a new club due to relegation or looking 1st team football next season.

 

Players that may be looking to stay in League 1

 

Chris Dagnall (Striker - Leyton Orient -Age 29 - 17 goals this season)

Izale McLeod (Striker - Crawley Town - Age 30 - 19 goals this season)

Paddy McCourt (Winger - Notts County - Age 31)

 

Players from elsewhere that may be available

 

Ryan Innis (Defender - Crystal Palace -Age 19)

Remie Street (Defender - Newcastle Utd - Age 20)

Florent Cuvelier (Midfielder - Sheffiled Utd -Age 22)

Michael Tonge (Midfielder - Leeds Utd - Age 32 - out of contract)

 

Thoughts? Anyone else?

 

Tonge would be an option. Him and Brown have played with each other for previous teams.

 

Mathias Pogba could be available as well. Unless he's already signed for someone.

Got to add that even with or without Marshall the squad is well stocked with wingers.....obviously Marshall and Moore would be first choice

and Andoh and Kelly as back up not to forget Lloyd.....so that's two quality starters and three talented young wingers....and in Birchall and Daniel

a couple of journeymen squad players.

So while Inniss would complete the pool of defenders and the squad has wingers galore Smurf needs a couple of quality strikers as Dodds and Campion are the only forwards on the books apart from young Kapend.

Now two strikers and Inniss on loan would sort out attack and defence but central midfield is problematic....Brown is 39 and will focus on coaching

then Lines wants gone and O'Connor is seemingly still undecided but even if both stay and Brown plays the odd game it does look like the squad needs

a couple of centre mids.....don't know the situation with O'Sullivan or Junior but Smurf seems to be looking to sign quality younger players.

Bradford fans couldn't wait get him gone. I think the terminology "Bone idle" was used quite frequently amongst their fans regarding McLean. Maybe he just didn't fit in there & lost all confidence & desire?
