I've never known a time when so many fans were desperate to 'lose' a player.

A very intelligent point. A lot of money was being wasted. Although I don't blame Tom Pope, he remained our top scorer despite a one off bad injury. Were we actually paying Mohammed's wages? Really?!

As all we are hearing from players at the Club is gripes over their lowered pay packets, in addition to losing Tom, Lines(?), Marshall(?), Mohammed, Robbo etc it must mean there is a large wad of notes remaining for Page to actually go out and secure some decent players for us, surely?

 

jjv_03 has stated the money we have presumably saved in off loading some of our "biggest" earners and this with the fact that the contracts offered to our so called "lesser" players is vastly reduced has to leave a substantial amount from the original budget? IF (big if) Page does go out and seek players that will actually improve us then he must have the Wonga now to actually do that?

 

The sums are there for us all to see and it leaves me with the thought now that our budget is not so bad, if Page gets in quality rather than quantity.

I'd have said yes before the last 2 seasons but Miller's career seems to be going down the pan(perhaps due to injuries?). Certainly has ability from his time at Crewe and Sheffield but I'm not sure he is at that level currently! Still one thing is he was getting the nasty 'Luke Beckett' habit of scoring against us everytime he played against Vale so maybe sign him for that reason!

And not just him Andy! Unfortunately Birchall and Yates appear to have signed though.:( I'm not sure but Williamson would perhaps have been the lesser of 3 evils(speaking metaphorically of course) If I had to pick 1 of the three to stay!
