You're right. Don't forget we have the tactical genius of Grew and Glover to fall back on. As I said before, 1-0 defeat which is exactly what Page deserves with that utterly ridiculous substition. I'd sooner play with 10 men than Birchall, because all he does is round round (slowly) like a headless chicken and then general slow the play down by passing it backwards. Poor, poor management for me and shows he is too chummy with the players. We're playing Barnsley not Barcelona, at least let's turn up and have a go.

 

You are completely right about Grew and Glover. Their record speaks for itself - Grew managed to win only 25% of games while he was caretaker and Glover less than 30% if you take in both his caretaker and full manager roles. Great players as they were, their management records are among the worst in the club's history. How we can expect to improve with this level of incompetence is beyond me.

Do you think Birchall should be anywhere near the 1st team?? Are you not fed up with the dreadful defending, and find it hard to understand why a management team consisting of two pretty decent centre halves and a goalie can't sort this out? Are you not fed up of seeing slow, pedestrian play littered with backwards and sideways passes from supposed quality midfielders, so much so that even the likes of Rochdale bossed large chunks of the game against us??? These are the things that have changed my opinion.

I'd get rid of Glover and Grew, get 2 new fullbacks and a centre half and give Page a pre-season to show us what he can do.

 

Any calls for him to be sacked having been thrown into a woeful team a third of the way through the season is madness. Does football have any patience anymore?

 

The squad isn't that bad either; Neal, Veseli, O' Connor, Pope (if he stays) is a very good spine. Marshall is a good player.

nothing positive to say hagrid, it's difficult being positive when there is nothing positive to take from the recent performances so negativity kicks in, if it didn't concern me then indifference would be present but I support the vale and have done for years so I'm concerned and can see a relegation battle looming up.
