We've a good record against them so it's not all doom and gloom. We did the treble over them in 04/05 I think! 2-1 away, 1-0 at home in the JPT and then 5-0 at home when Birchall scored a wonder goal (recall we hit the woodwork a couple of times in that game too!)

 

2-1 away win! Hopefully Marshall can perform how he did against them at VP

I have absolutely no doubt at all that Rob Page has the ability to reshape and lift his team to get at least a point, but probably three at Barnsley, they responded well in the games after the home defeat to Coventry and will do so again.

 

Forget the Crewe match, onwards and upwards.

6 of us travelling from East Yorkshire for this one, the support given at Chesterfield has given me the bug again and more of the same will make it all worth while win, lose or draw! My seven year old is starting to see why we follow the Vale and thinks we are all crazy! Again there appears confusion abt tickets for this game as it does not appear we can pay on the day can anyone clarify before I ring Vale/Barnsley tomorrow if this is the case?

More than likely win this one in front of a few hundred Vale fans - should make some recompense for failing in front of 6,500 at home .

No doubt if we win some hood puller will say we are only x point of the top and can make the playoffs.

How embarrasing would it be if we did !!!

 

Do the players know that the play offs and wembly final are played in front of LARGER crowds and those that freeze usually get beat.

I think this team is likely, and in one respect I like it as it includes two proper, fast wingers. On the other hand if Page plays 451 at home is he likely to switch to 442 away? Maybe the injury to Dodds will force his hand in that respect

Posted on the official site that the game is now all ticket. Why I've no idea. Pretty stupid decision especially with snow and freezing temperatures forecast for later this week and there's no chance of selling out.
