If he wants to stay he will stay, if he wants to go, he will go, it's just that simple. It also goes for the rest of our squad, nobody can stand in their way really, that's the bittersweet life of football. Whether smurf publicises it or not, it's up to Marshall at the end of the day and who can say fairer than that.

 

It's not about whether Marshall is allowed to leave, or whether he stays. It's a matter of not publicising the details of the "gentlemen's agreement" and drawing other clubs' attention to his immediate availability.

Really hope Mark Marshall stays at Vale :). He is my best signing so far this season for the Vale :). I like his work rate and his pace. I am really pleased on how he has progressed from having a two year ban from football to being a star player at Coventry and impressing clubs elsewhere last season then Smurf signed him up last summer and I think he has done a fantastic job for us so far. If he does decide to go then good luck Mark Marshall :).

I believe he's still living in London so if a club from that way makes an offer, he may well decide to go. Big loss if this happens!!

By your comments I think you are indicating that Marshalls Agent wouldn't break the trust of a Gentleman's agreement if it served his, or Marshalls best interest. I commend your faith in that profession, though I believe you to be misguided in that view.

 

Any agent who is not "mentioning" the names on his portfolio to all and sundry is not doing his job.

Ey? Who could we replace him with? First few months he was amazing, he gives 100% every week and even when not at his best (Saturday) he still manages to get the assist!

With all due respect, I never mentioned his agent. I have no idea who his agent is, but in general terms I am sure there are some scoundrels amongst them (possible exception, Phil Sproson?).

 

Smurf did not need to draw attention to the matter. It's as simple as that.
