Perhaps it is necessary to force a situation where he either signs a new contract or leaves for a fee.

 

I don't think people realise that Smurf would not have been as successful in business as he has if he made big mistakes, and much more of what he does is probably well calculated than people realise.

If he isnt signing a new contract surely it makes sense to get rid in January for a fee rather than lose him in the summer for nowt?

Does anyone really believe that potential clubs get their targets from The Sentinel. His agent will have made any club in the Championship down that he may want to move to that he is available, and those that show interest will be told what he earns now and what might tempt him. If he leaves it won't be because of anything Norman said - if it is then Mark Marshall should sack his agent!

I agree. Times were better when we wouldn't spend money on the likes of Sam Togwell because of agents and fees. At least we had our principles when we nearly fell out of the Football League.
