We need to play a 6-4-0 to try and keep a clean sheet

Id go with

...............................Neal.................................

Veseli.Duffy.Robertson.Streete.McGivern.Dickinson

........Birchall......Brown......Lines......Marshall

This would give us a chance at possibly keeping a clean sheet, or just conceding one, and who knows marshall might score a screamer to give us the 1-0 win :anyonesign:

I think this is the team Page will go for..

Neal,

Yates, Streete, McGivern, Dickinson

Birchall, Lines, O'Connor, Marshall,

Pope, Williamson

My team..

Neal,

Veseli, Streete, Duffy, McGivern

Birchall, Lines, O'Connor, Marshall,

Pope, Panayiotou

Wouldn't mind seeing Birchall start after coming on and scoring, plus being a local lad we know he will give is all, even if he runs out of steam after 60 mins and is replaced by Moore.

We need to see what Streete is about, and I'd like to see game time for the Leicester lad.

Without Pope, can a new formation be found? Thursday and Friday to sort it out!

In my opinion without Pope we must go for pace up front and try and play football on the floor, down the channels, using the wings etc. Therefore I would go with a 3-5-2 formation of :

Neale

Duffy

McGivern

Streete

Moore

O'Connor

Brown

Lines

Daniel

Williamson

Marshall

a much improved performance see's Vale keep their first clean sheet and Williamson and Lines secure a valuable victory :)

I'm on a cocktail of Sangria and Cava BHF but thayst must have dropped a couple of happy pills in yours youth.

Brown protects the back 3 along with O'Connor making it effectively a back 5 when needed, offensively Moore Lines and Daniel give us 5 up front. Pace and the ability to get at them from the off will cause them no end of problems. Time for 'Young Ben' to step up to the plate and for others to show that last night was an off-night.

People are moaning about Duffy's distribution but if you watch him closely he doesn't really want the ball - he's a central defender who wants to defend. He is not comfortable on the ball and I really don't understand why we pass to him putting him (and us) under pressure. He is moaned at when he passes back to the keeper and he is moaned at when he plays the ball forward.

I must say though, this real ale is very strong.

So no pope means we can't really play one up top, so it's 442 or 352 really, it also makes the place off dodds come under threat IMO. With no pope id go with;

Neal

Veseli

McGivern

Streete

Daniel

Marshall

Lines

O'connor

Moore

Slew

Leicester guy

Don't think campion will be for and we need a big lad up top.
