Ridiculous starting line up. We couldn't defend to save our lives on Tuesday, haven't kept a clean sheet all season yet Page starts with the same back four today. Slew starts, despite having shown nothing recently and the loan players, yet again, are nowhere near the first 11. If I was Smurf, I'd be asking why the club's hard earned money was being wasted on loan players like Streete and the Leicester lad if they rent going to get a game.

 

I'd go even further than that. If I were Streete I'd be driving back up to Newcastle tonight and not coming back. If he can't get a game after that defensive showing then it's obvious he's never going to get one.

 

Sorry to say it, but Page has lost my confidence already and that's saying something after all of the crap managers we've had.

It's like nothing has been learned over the past 10+ years. Someone should write a "Being Vale chairman for dummies" book.

 

Rule 1 - the customer is king. Don't abuse or insult the fans.

Rule 2 - there is a hard core 3,500 that will come no matter what and another 3,500 fair weather fans. The way to get the fair weather fans back is to have a winning team. Price reductions, offers, appealing on the radio, etc will have minimal effect compared to us actually winning a few games.

Rule 3 - having said that, price increases above the rate of inflation will majorly annoy your loyal fan base. See rule 1.

Rule 4 - employ a PR person. Or at least think before opening your mouth.

Rule 5 - have replica shirts ready for the summer to buy before people go on holiday

Rule 6 - don't run out of pies / beer/ brown sauce

Rule 7 - a decent manager is worth his wage. See rule 2.

 

Any more? Honestly, it's just same s*** different day.
