Adams will probably put the likes of Williamson and Dodds in, but neither ever take there chance when given the opportunity from the start as neither are good enough at this level. You would have expected Williamson to really kick on after his hat-trick in what seemed like an eternity ago, but he hasn't done anything since. Very dissapointing.

Thinking about when we've been best with 4-4-2, I've concluded:

The wide men don't need to be that tricky, but need to be able to get up and back. Gary Ford and Kevin Kent weren't great players, but could help out at both ends of the pitch as could McCarthy and Ainsworth, who were obviously better quality.

When was the last time we had a decent box to box midfielder?

The back four are clearly culpable, but they need something in front of them.

The front two need to be able to complement each other. Compared to last year, we've got a better set of players, but a far worse team.
