Smurf won't get rid because of the outcry from those who can see no further than Adams. The defence has been dire for 18 months. He's done nothing to fix it, he brings in good midfielders and completely bypasses them. We have one way to play, lump it at Pope. Once that fails we are 9/10 a beaten side because we can't defend.

 

It shouldn't have got to this point because we should have gone another way at the end of last season.

Out of interest, why should we have gone another way at the end of last season when we had justbsecurred our highest league position for 10 years?

It's certainly not a nice style of play even if we do nick the odd win here and there.

 

It's still early days but I can't see the defence changing much so we will ship goals all season.

 

Let's hope we can start to do better in midfield and jordan slew can fire some goals along with pope.

What i just don't get

Adams = Defender

Page = Defender

 

So why,why why is the defending so costly and has been for a while with little sign of it improving?

Because we've gone as far as we can playing such a one dimensional way. The signs were there to see last season - look at the goal difference we finished with for example.

Adams mentioned in his post match interview about Posh being a good team.Give them time and space and they will hurt you.For the second goal there were two unmarked men in the box (according to RS)So what went wrong,what did they work on during the week building up to the game?

Can't comment too much about the play today as wasn't there.

Once again thought sounded like two goals came from outside the area.

We are conceding way too many goals from outside of the box - this problem MUST be addressed and soon.

Also wasn't too happy with Robertson and Jennings im starting line up, but as I said I can't judge too much as I wasn't there.

Glad Williamson was finally dropped but don't like to see Pope on his own and neither Slew not Campion were for so he should've played really.

I didn't expect anything else today it was always going to be one of our hardest games of the season so I wouldn't be too critical, the previous home league home games however have been the real problem so far, and next week at Crewe needs to see a massive improvement or alarm bells will be ringing ..

We played the formation everyone wanted us two, Marshall and Moore on the wings and pope up top by himself, other than that it would have been the usual 442.

3 dreadful goals to concede. Completely switched off defensively for the first two and let the lad cut in and have all the time in the world to shoot for the 3rd.
