Nobody pays him to be controversial on twitter though do they.

All part of the mix..he is always referring to his tweets and twitter when he is on Talksport

He's also paid to be controversial on football related matters, he's miles away from his profession.

Maybe he is trying to broaden his...err..."appeal".

That's like saying Clarkson is only paid to be controversial about cars..it's a persona and nothing is relly off limits

First one to winge about racial comments about himself on Twitter yet he still carries on with his pathetic idiotic comments. If he's going to make insensitive remarks then he can only expect similar about himself.

How can you even compare what he has said to the disgusting racist abuse he gets on a daily basis?!

racist remarks aren't insensitve, they're illegal!

His tweet says nothing derogatory about British troops, and although you could argue it was ill informed he's entitled to his opinion.

If I said the war in Iraq was a pointless waste of time for example it wouldn't be meant as a slight on our brave servicemen/women more a statement about our reasons for invading.

I don't see a problem to be fair........

nail on head.

Quite easily......his comments in whatever slant he meant are going to upset a number of people. He is opening himself up for a lot of abuse. Guy is a tool.

True but they don't deserve racist abuse, the two aren't comparible as one is a vile crime. It's like comparing a caution for being drunk and disorderly to committing manslaughter.

Attack the post, not the poster.

The Falklands were taken by our then superior naval force in the 1830`s. If there wasn`t the possibilty of oil being there, those lives lost in the 80`s would have been in vain, as in these days of enforced austerity we couldn`t justify the cost of maintaining a military presence to protect a few fishermen and sheep farmers, when we can`t look after our elderly or vulnerable.

They are less worthy of protection cos they are just 'a few fishermen and sheep farmers'? They are OUR fishermen, our sheep farmers, there are undoubtedly elderly and vulnerable UK citizens on the Falklands (then and now).

Jeez

Jonnyaitch, This is a slang name the forces guys gave them. The local people who lived there complained that they were being called bennies, after the character from an early soap - Crossroads. So we started calling them still's after that. Still bennies.

Amazed me when I was in Argentina how sore an issue the Malvinas is over there. I'm not sure the argument that we need to keep it because servicemen died trying to reclaim it holds much water. Servicemen died trying to keep the Empire alive, but we lost it in the end.

We keep them cos Argentina has no hsitorical claim on them and cos self determination means that the people there want to be British

fantastic reply by "Ken"--says it all, nothing needed to add--what an absolute................................................!!

I sympathise but Stan is perfectly entitled to express his opinion on the Falklands. I'd hate to think I could not express an opinion cos some people would be deeply upset by it. Even if he's being deliberately controversial he's entitled to do that too. Even if he is a complete and utter t0$$er he is entitled to express his opinion..but feel free to pull that opinion apart

Are we not allowed to question a conflict cos British soldiers died?
