Bradford Fans.....

Did think that when I read it! So we didn't have that many clear cut chances yet named 6 and they had the half chances....

He was probably one that was tugging himself all week thinking promotion was a certainty because they beat the whipping boys 4-0 which ironically is Carlisle being so poor more than any quality they had.

Sour grapes spring to mind. They were outplayed by a better side but somehow think they had the better of the game. Parkinson is a grade A twonk as well. The pitch is a bit sticky Deary me. Bunch of saw losers.

I think he was listening to the Brentford's manager's post match interview the other week when he also blamed our sticky pitch. It might be sticky it might not but we also have to play on it so if its sticky for them its sticky for us. Sore losers does come to mind:yes:

TAKEN FROM THEIR WEBSITE "apart from the two goals, the double save from jonny mac and the two tom pope headers i can't quite remember vale having that many clear cut chances. whereas we had the doyle volley in the first half that was on its way to working the keeper, the goal, thompson had a couple of half efforts, reid had a couple when he came on, a bit of a scramble when they made some decent defensive blocks and the one meredith ballooned over with his right foot at the death (what a celebration and atonement that would have been)."

Is this guy on crack? He has just mentioned 6 clear cut chances for Vale but only 1 for Bradford. Strange folk are up that way.

A lot of clubs are living on their past. Bradford have to realise they are no better at best than an average team in League 1 at present akin to other teams including us. Yes they get bigger average crowds than Port Vale and consequently have a bigger budget. However over the years they have constantly wasted it trying to get back to old times. Like every other team in any league they aspire for success but they have to adapt to life and understand they have and will not get a devine right to get back to past successes despite last year's League cup run.

Thought Bradford fans were very vocal

Thought the whole of VP did well at times considering the relatively small home following who are spread around in a big ground.

You say that but we had the 4th highest gate yesterday only Brizzle City, Preston & the Blades got more.

I agree - but it is a surprise that we appear to have 'lost' well over 1000 fans from the last home league game (Brentford).

It does make a change to the atmosphere when the away fans make some noise, instead of seeing a few dozen hardy souls from Dagenham or Barnet on the Hamil End.

It helps our finances too!

What the **** is a sticky pitch?

Have we let 4million slugs loose on it or summat?

Was not the pitch heavily re-seeded during the close season? New grass grows fast, especially if fertilized, well watered, with warm weather, sun etc. So longer than usual, denser, maybe layered, will tend to slow the ball down more than usual. But how much do we train on it, so as to be able to judge passing on it better than the visiting team? Should players be able to adapt during a game? If this is a problem for visiting teams we need to use it to our advantage, similar to Luton`s plastic pitch in the 70`s?

It's funny how the Walsall manager didn't complain about the pitch being sticky. Just sour grapes from Parkinson and Rosler.
