To be fair ,Coventry on fan base and History are a bigger club than Vale.

desperate enough to risk closing the club down,putting it right into the deep s**t,into liquidation. god save us from crooked so called business men.

 

They're not a charity. Coventry signed a rental deal and didn't pay it.

 

If you rented a house, and didn't keep up with the payments. You'd be out on your ****.

 

They have offered to give Coventry about a 60% discount on rent.

How ironic. Many clubs fall into debt or drop down the league because of the high wage demands made by players. One of the main campaigners for the abolition of players maximum wage was Jimmy Hill. The same Jimmy Hill who played for and was chairman of Coventry City. As I said, how ironic.

TMB - that's the same 'play fair' Jimmy Hill who announced the result of a game over the tannoy which meant that both Coventry and the team they were playing were promoted - so both sides stopped playing till the end of the game!

Sounds like a cracking game today Cov 5 Bristol 4 but played in front of just 2204 fans at Sixfields. Surely after paying Northampton for use of the ground they will lose a fortune on that kind of gate.

Reading through some Coventry forums and I may be wrong, it looks like the Golden share is in another company - Coventry City Holdings [edit: or actually with the FL as Animal points out] so although this is bad, it means the team will still exist - albeit with a hefty points deduction and probably a transfer embargo... Someone feel free to correct me if this is incorrect...

 

As I understand it and read in the local press (I live in a Coventry postcode) you're absolutely correct in your summary.

Yep Johnny, about 1,000 home fans with 19 taking advantage of a free bus service from Coventry to Northampton.

 

In contrast, over 7,000 were at the Ricoh for a Coventry legends game.

 

Like the Vale protests in recent years, it's a clear indication to the owners. I can certainly understand the viewpoint of those that stayed away and I hope that it gives a clear message to Sisu.

 

Hopefully, it gets resolved soon for the good of the club. I think, just like the Vale, the club must realise that they now cannot win. If the vast majority of fans don't want you at the club then you are only going to fail - the only factor is how stubborn you are in staying in place...

A fight to the death between two consortiums,one aided and abetted by coventry city council the other in the pocket of the previous owners neither of which seem to give a tinkers cuss for the football team. It's all about power and financial gain and the club can go to hell. The Football League are hand wringing up the corner,totally impotent, about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, fit and proper person test my hearse.:ninja:
