  1. I think we had some more committed players such as Dave Worrall and James Gibbons but we let them go.

  2. Woz was quality. Whoever only offered him one year was an absolute numpty!

  3. Agreed, the only problem I have is that I don't trust the current "recruitment team" to find the replacements.

  4. And wozza would put more effort into 90 minutes football than Massey puts in all season 😬

  5. Depends on who we recruit and who's doing the recruitment hopefully it's not Fraudcroft otherwise we're up shyte creek without a paddle, Up the Vale &. KTF

  6. We need some character and steel in the team. A lot of relegated teams struggle! We need to get rid of the loosing mentality and quick. I do think we will struggle to get back up.

  7. Bids for our best players? Most of the players except Garrity and possibly Chislett would be lucky to stay at Vale. If released most would never see league football again.

  8. Yeah gotta get rid of the dead wood It's a no brainer , even if they have to pay up contracts ,we can rebuild with more commited players for the long term

  9. I do think a fair few will go even if in contract tbh

  10. We will sell anyone going when money comes calling. We needed Harrison this season, but the MK Dons offer a few quid and out the door he goes!

  11. Oh god no if I was Ben ide definitely want to play at an higher level than league two,but he'll be hard to replace, and finding another gem the likes of Ben will be difficult

  12. Splodger, I think we’ll have to sell Ben, in the summer. If he stays and we’re not pushing for promotion, which unless we buy some players, we won’t be, he can leave for nothing. He’s proven in L1 and not going to sign a new contract. If you were him, would you.?

  13. I'm not sure why miseryguts would want to come on here, and try to drag us down to their level? Can't they just accept that people have different opinions and live their lives with them? And to apportion any amount of blame to Happy Clappers doesn't take into account the bitchiness and division caused by "The Negs" So - just leave us alone...you won't change our minds regardless what happens! We are Vale, too! VTID KTF TTP

  14. Wer, TBH, I wish that we’d move away from the loan business model. Apart from Alfie&Ollie has it benefited us.?

  15. “ what the hell ranting on a forum has to do with what goes on in a football stadium “ Well I I truly cannot believe that you have made that statement. “You are the first to give praise when it’s due ,and nobody ever has an issue with that” . Are you serious ? “ what praise have the staff and players collectively deserved over the last few months” .They deserve no praise and I don’t know anyone whohas given them any .

  17. I didn’t like what’s gone on many times before ,Ive marched with the black and gold and protested , and I don’t like what is going on now . BUT PLEASE tell me what are YOU PERSONALLY ,going to do about this predicament i look forward to hearing your ideas , probably make things better by shouting abuse from the the terrace , then turn up hypocritically for the next game ,or are you not going to be a Vale fan because we got relegated ? I’ve seen this many times before, I think 7 promotions and this could be my 8th relegation since I’ve been going to watch my team , I’ve seen some shyte down the vale some real shyte , you choose to slag off all and sundry here on a forum , I may think the same as you but I don’t do this , it achieves ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ,so does that make me a “happy clapper “ or a just a Vale fan …….till I die.

  18. Assuming Vale are gonna be in Lge 2, IMHO the squad needs to be based around experienced, good Lge 1/2 pro's who will form the bulk of the 1st team, complemented by the young lads. But most of all Vale need a couple of natural goal scoring strikers at least to score the goals if we are to win/contend for promo. The same mistakes regarding recruitment of strikers cannot happen again

  19. You’d imagine ojo would be the first knocking on the gaffers door trying to find an exit away from the club. Chislett, and Ripley you’d think only left their league 2 clubs to chance their arm in the league above so I’m not sure they’ll want to stay here for another few seasons. We will end up with the core of <ovf censored> that is currently getting us relegated with the addition of 3/4 new faces. It’ll be another long hard slog in league two.

  20. The only way to get any trust back with the supporter base is for DF to be no where near Port Vale in any capacity.

  21. I have no inside knowledge but i will be majorly surprised if DF is anywhere near bringing in a new squad in the summer

  22. You'd say only Garrity and Chislett would likely be of massive interest to any club when we go down as they've scored 20 or so goals between them from midfield. I couldn't blame them moving on tbh they've been 2 of the better players in a god awful side. That would leave a midfield rebuild as well as everywhere else. Ojo should be more than decent in league two but he's looked lazy and disinterested 1) since returning from injury and 2) since Crosby got the boot. Before xmas he looked a very good player with Arblaster and Devine around him but does he want to be here anymore? I'd like to think Walters will be with us, but appears to be a bit of contract rebel and perhaps as a result isn't getting a look in like the some of the other academy lads who've had more game time since that Wrexham game in the EFL Trophy. Smith would personally be my first name on the released list, proved how dreadful a defender he's become costing us goals in the last 2 (key) home games, he seems more interested in shithousing that actually trying to defend? Get back to basics Nathan or sod off as you were(and could be again) a half decent league two level defender when you put your mind to it! The academy lads aside, the rest I'm generally not fussed over, you'd imagine one or 2(Debrah, Iacoviti defence wise) could/should be at least half competent in league two and Debrah probably has a couple of years to run on his deal anyway. Jones and Loft ought to be paid up, dreadful footballers the pair of them and I'd honestly have Grant not far behind as well, coupled with his poor injury record! Sang looks the archetypal utility player who is average to poor in 2 or 3 positions but will probably become a lower league journeyman throughout his career, useful as a squad player maybe? Big rebuild certainly needed as the rot has clearly set in with a losing culture at the club!

  23. I think we desperately need some action, incentive or whatever to re-connect the club & fans, like the Target 5,000 or Bradford’s £100 season tickets, just something to get the crowds in and engaged. As I said in an earlier post, I’m sceptical that we’ll do anything next year. I think our form has been so bad since promotion that the losing mentality & generally fragility will take some changing. As I sit here, why should I buy a season ticket next year??

  24. Morecambe Accrington Salford Harrogate Depressing away followings Depressing grounds The feel good factor has well and truly gone 6 cup wins 8 league wins Thank you Carol and Fraudcroft Trust the process

  25. We need a properly organised protest against Flitcroft. I hate to single out one person but he’s made his own rope by stating plainly he is responsible for “all things football”. Well the football is dire, we’ve hired mentally weak, uninterested and untalented players with an total imbalance positionally, and I am confident the squad is quite expensive ironically.

  26. Danny Sonner mentioned wages at Vale about 20 years ago.....so what do we do pre-season, bugger off to Spain and have zero match condition pre season friendlies. Point being, Vale will always be Vale, and for the second season running the prep for the new season has been an absolute shambles.

  27. The vast majority will turn up, that’s not guesswork it’s based on recent history at that level where the home average floated around 4500 with the biggest part of this being made up of home fans as the away followings are generally dire. I asked where you got 3000 from? I’m still waiting on the answer to that one, but you’ve now changed tack and it’s become 3-4K so I guess that says you were wrong first time. You’re also guessing we’ll be in the lower half of the table before a ball has been kicked.

  28. Now now children, Happy thoughts only please. We need everyone fully behind the team, no matter what we think the future holds, 3 points on Saturday may well go a long way to securing our League One status. If not, it's not the end of the World, as Doris (and we fans) sing...."Que Sera Sera".
