Comparing Thatcher to Blair is like comparing chalk to chalk. They were both mad egotistical buffoons. Interestingly enough Thatcher was less of a Toff!

Also interestingly when Harold Wilson won in Feb 1974 defeating Edward Heath (Labour got the most seats but not an overall majority) the Conservatives had a larger share of the vote.

During the October 74 election Lab did get a majority of seats (by 3) and yet only 39.2 % of the popular vote..smaller than Thatcher ever got...seems she had more of a mandate than Wilson or Blair

Bats can be male or female. And I feel they have a case to be upset by this comparison, poor things never did as much harm and nor did most witches. Many people also considered her to be more of a dog than a bitch.

The use of such terms doesn't really offend me but I am surprised that so many protesters against here feel comfortable using such terms that they would probably oppose in most other circumstances

Totally agree mate. Very strange lack of emotion from the Thatcher family though, especial her daughter Carol.

 

Whatever you think/thought of her any funeral deserves respect.

She won all 3 elections with majorities that belied the fact that around 60% of the country didn't want her.

Many thousands of job losses alot of them well paid ...thats what Thatcher meant for North Staffordshire

As to thet family not appearing emotional..well I suspect that's how they were raised to be..to only show emotions in certain circumstances, stiff upper lip and all that; doesn't mean they aren't feeling emotional
