And of those 1.4 million (a lot more when you count the folk that are now not registered as UK citizens as you have to do in many countries), they still claim a pension, fuel allowances etc in their residing country and come back for NHS treatment. I know quite a few who do this. Isn't there great areas of Spain that watch Eastenders, eat pies and speak with northern accents. Hardly blending in?

 

I love it when the anti-ims get on their high horse and emigrate to NZ, Spain or other non specific English speaking nation.

 

I wish the British had the Polish work ethic.

Polish work ethic?oh yes, undercut british counterparts, then send money back home instead of spending it on our economy, and then disappearing when they have to start paying full price for everything, after realising that £5 per hour doesnt go very far.

What UKIP propose won't be enough for the anti-immigration lobby. If they were successful in implementing their immigration policy you wouldn't notice any difference.

 

UKIP would cap net immigration at 50,000 http://ukip.org/content/ukip-policies/3038-ukip-immigration-policy

this would exclude work permits and students. Students 282,833 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19420168 , work permits 147,385 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/immigration-statistics-july-to-september-2012/immigration-statistics-july-to-september-2012 which makes 43,218 of the immigration numbers last year.

 

That leaves only 78,190 (which UKIP want to cap to 50,000). So their grand plan reduces immigration by about 28,000 a year.

 

I won't even get started on UKIPs other trash policies. So by reducing immigration by 28,000 are we going to return to a "green and pleasant land" where we leave our doors unlocked and form communities. There are people who do that already in the UK, they are called the Muslim, Sikh, etc communities because they base their ideals around religion. Now whether you agree with that or not its based on something. Our culture is based on mis-trust of your fellow man and selfishness. What to know why this country is how it is? Take a look in the mirror.

Nothing why, they work. Nobody has an issue with foreigners who earns living and pay their way it those that come here for free education, free healthcare and a free life without contributing we have issues withm , in fact not just foreigners we have our own scum who do that let alone paying for foreigners too

When I look in the mirror I see somebody who has worked for 44 years and not claimed a penny in benefits.When I look through the window I see many foreign faces who are definitely not here for the weather.

But by the figures there are about the capacity of old trafford of immigrants that don't do that. Spread across the country I don't see it as that many. Its a very small amount of people to blame everything on.

I'm not blaming everything on a minority,I am supporting change.

We need to gain control of our borders to ensure that we don't allow any Tom,**** or Harry to enter our country in January.Labour and the Tories have only reacted to immigration because of the surge in UKIP support.If you are not concerned,at least 25% of the vote are.

I'm happy to disagree on our views on immigration and Europe we won't ever agree. UKIPs other policies are rotten though such as a flat tax rate. Huge increase in military spending and handing all military decisions to them, it would be a disaster.

UKIP might not have the best of policies but they have certainly raised the bar on immigration.A lot of people in this country have major concerns about immigration and if nothing else,they have made the two main parties focus on something which matters to the voters.

Immigration is not an issue. UKIP are pandering largely to an ignorant, yet vocal minority in a period of "zero politics". I'm just pleased that UKIPs strength in recent elections has mobilised an otherwise stagnant democracy. Who wants three parties all fighting over the same central ground anyway?

 

I'm just disappointed about how all the main parties have responded to this alledged wake up call. The Tories have been made to look weak, Labour don't have anywhere to go with this after fundamentally ****ting on what they should stand for, and even if the Lib Dems wanted to go on the attack and reaffirm their status they're restricted by the gagging order of the coalition.

For us all - I'm interested, after 44years of work do you feel like the system has worked for you? Did you start as an apprentice and are now a senior manager thanks to "getting on" and "working hard"?

 

If you don't feel like you achieved what you wanted, is this down to immigration?

 

Apologies, I know nothing about you. You could have had a military career, or owned your own business, worked for the NHS.... who knows i'm just interested.
