Some good comments. I also think a lot of doors are shut and only people who know people ect ect can succeed in certain fields.

 

"Not what you know but whom" I am amazed at how many times I have heard people say it. On the flip side you also have to be positive and do what is within your personal remit. I believe the same is true when it comes to Politics-you go with what suits you best.

 

Which is why I firmly believe the game is up now for Labour in most deprived cities and towns- people need to hold onto hope-and that is what UKIP gives them.

It makes me laugh to see the likes of George Osbourne and Ian Duncan-Smith preaching about how ordinary people should lead their life's-when everyone who has half a brain (to quote JA) knows fully well how privileged and kept backgrounds they come from. Their party members would hardly know poverty if it hit them in the face at 290 mph!!

 

Meanwhile they seem to think that anything they say can fool the electorate-look at Cameron's supposed anger at hearing about the EU bill-now over a week later agrees to pay it with the exception of a rebate which was already on the cards anyway-it is like they are trying to prove they have done something for the country, when in essence they have thrown 870 million at the EU, just to subsidise the likes of Italy and Germany

 

On the flip side you have a Labour party in disarray, dissatisfied and with no confidence in a leader with very little substance or challenge towards any of the issues bar the NHS and a very weak challenge at that.

 

To summarise, UKIP don't even have to try at the moment to challenge either party, and that frankly is an extreme embarrassment and indictment of how this country is managed by its high income MP's.

 

I would go as far to say that both parties are out of touch. And I have to say I feel more anger at Labour they have betrayed their traditional support and abandoned them.

It's an abbreviation of the Latin phrase "et cetera" which means "and other things" or "and so on."

 

So Memphis- I was wrong to say 'ECT' as it abbreviates to Electro compulsive therapy- I stand corrected no marks off the teacher today!!

That doesn't make me dyslexic, ignorant, an extremist or racist, simply that I read posts in order and reply in such an order like most people I would imagine.

 

To be fair I was beginning to think ect stood for Extremists Can't Think :D
