I am fairly sure that at a fan's forum at Plymouth, their manager told the fans that there wasn't a sell on clause. If not then heads should roll. We should have re-negotiated Tolaj's contract at the end of last season.

Their manager said that he didn't have a release clause in his plymouth contract, not that Vale didn't insert a sell on percentage clause

People are wrong about Paton - he's a good player and should have a place in our squad.

The Wikipedia scouts will just bleat "he's only scored 2 league goals in 2 seasons" without considering he's been played out of position and not given a consistent run.

Absolutely. We have a a number of these players over the years now. Such a shame when it happens especially when you look at some of the players that make it.

I do think with Wilson though that he was injured in his head before it actually happened. Something I think Clarke alluded too.

There has to be something in the whole "mental" side of the game. Players years ago would have played through certain injuries. Where as today the science dictates minutes on the pitch. For me it's gone to far and made the game even more sterile.

Don't know if mentioned on here before. Was watching a podcast, Butt, Scholes, Neville etc talking about players who just didnt like football. Nick Powell was mentioned, "just wanted to hang out with mates, play computer games, didnt enjoy football"  then Butt said James Wilson was another. Perhaps accounts for him not having the desire to push through a bit of pain.

I hope ruari gets a permanent move to St Johnstone....I mean who would you rather be playing against next season... Celtic..Rangers.. Hearts....or Tranmere, Newport and Crewe FFS 🤣 🤣

Why would Plymouth agree to a Percentage clause if they have met Vale`s  Release Clause?

I believe if they don't pay the release clause in one lump sum then that changes things.

Think this was the talk, they wanted installments so we were able to negotiate that, didn't Hancock say something about we managed to get some add ons?

Exactly this. A release clause is activated when they meet the release clause but if it’s not paid in full, negotiations can take place - thus you’d imagine a percentage sell on inserted as per comms from the club.

I’ve seen Cleverly has stated they’ve not had any offers for him and that’s he’s very happy where he is….he was very happy with us but jumped at the first sign of further money and advancing his career…so Plymouth shouldn’t hold their breath - unless they manage to go up through the play offs!

are you saying that both Darren Moore and Jon Brady are wrong about him?

It doesn’t help that Manchester United made both mentioned players multi-millionaires before they had even kicked a ball for the first team

What? How are they Wikipedia scouts if they are judging him by what he has done at Vale Park!?

Yeah, watched that myself 2 talented players at that.. [emoji53]

Ben White doesn't either.

Just because you're a professional trained and working in something doesn't mean you automatically enjoy even more of it outside of your own work. There's sometimes more to life than that and what you do to 'enjoy' that part of it doesn't have to consume everything else in your life.
