JB says that he wants players who are on the up in their careers, not ones on the way down, so is that a message to Stockley and one or two others?

Can't see any positives in keeping Byers because he's too fragile and even when fir, is not adaptable to playing in different formations, judging by the amount of times I've read people on here saying that "it's not his game' after on of his many quieter games.

I'm hoping that JB is able to mould a team with the hard working, fast moving capabilities and with that improvement of quality that he's seeking to deliver for us, next season.

Dunno, we regularly find a way to do so.

It'd be nice if we signed some players in any position who vaguely know where the back of the net is. Our centrebacks must have got on the end of 50+ corners this season and barely tested the keeper with their ridiculous 50p head efforts. My 6 year old is starting to strike the ball more cleanly and with more venum with the goal in sight than any of our current strikers or midfielders. It's as if they've had kicking it properly at the goal trained out of them.

Our goal of the season options are tragic. Ironically all three in the Peterborough game would have been in the shortlist if they'd held out for an extra week. Cole tap in from a rebound 5 yards out at Wimbledon says it all.

I’ve probably gone over the top. But I think we need a clean sweep. I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone out of contract was released just to give Brady a lot of room in the squad. It’s going to be harder to get rid of players under contract I know, but I think some of them will be paid off to go.

On loan until the end of the season.

Forget these and let them all go back. We can look at the loan market once we have got our own targets in.

  • Ethon Archer
  • Joe Gauchi

It depends. If Dipepa signed a 5 year contract then it would be amortised over 5 years. As it would be up until April it is likely that we had less than a fifth of his transfer fee.

The players we signed would have been 2 or 3 year deals so we would have paid a higher proportion of their fees.

not so

Yes, when you sell a player, the full profit or loss is recognised in your Profit and Loss (P&L) statement immediately for that reporting year.

While the actual cash may be paid to you in instalments over several years, the accounting treatment depends on the derecognition of the player as an asset, not when the cash hits your bank account.

Key Accounting Mechanics

  • Instant Recognition: Under standard IFRS and IAS 38 accounting rules, a club removes the player’s remaining "book value" from its balance sheet at the point of transfer and records the entire profit (or loss) in that year's accounts.

That statement would also rule out Hernández signing

I hope no-one who has any say in recruitment and retention takes any notice of this post other than to laugh...🤠

Perhaps Hernández can bribe JB with a pack of skittles 🤔

I guess Hernandez would need to prove that he can achieve the required level of fitness for a L2 season and that he really wants to stay at the club, which I suppose is no different to any other player.

I take that as a compliment as it’s worked with your posts for the last few years 🥳

He has the advantage of being an entertainer and mentor, but there are lots of other factors, Likely to be an eventful Summer and lots of gossip.

I will believe it when I see it, as I saw no signings yet from Brady that fit that mould. If Magliore is on his way up, I hate to see his decline.

Waine FA Cup, Stockley v Northampton would be a couple of others that spring to mind.

Seen on Twitter a Barnsley fan saying Moore in the mix for their job and suggested Byers as a potential signing. Just wondering what people’s feelings on this would be either way? For me Byers is our best player and I wouldn’t consider letting him go unless they wow us with an offer. Conversely his injuries are a thing and probably frees a not insignificant size of the budget? I’m not sure Byers would be overly keen to work with Moore again given how he dropped him from the squad so this might be all moot.

Fairly sure you might actually see a lot of our players if they get released end up in at least league 1 or up against us in league 2. The biggest tragedy of this season is that a lot of our team as individuals are hugely talented and the days of our released list vanishing off to the conference or worse won’t be the case this year.

The tale of woe this year has been to disjointed poor team selections and letting to many high quality first team level players go. Both largely on Moore incompetence which Brady has started to turn around, although even he I would say has not brought the best out of what he has had.
