The Jake taylor who got relegated with Morecambe, then got released at the end of the following season and hasn't played in the league since? Yea we missed out there 😂

Not a fan of mocking a players bad luck since leaving us. He did well for us when called on. Being relegated is no reflection on an individual player either. We’ve been relegated twice in the last couple of years with some good individual players in the squad. Jake Taylor was unlucky with getting an injury, who knows how things would have panned out with us had he stayed. Sliding doors and all that.

Someone sent me this….oh what a season it could have been with strikers…

Believe it’s now 5 in a row in clean sheets at home too.

Jake Taylor in that first season for us was unbelievable, with Burgess that really worked and Joyce ticking it over behind them.

The play off season was odd, never for a look in until the Play Off second leg wasn’t it! Then the final when he was probably the best player on the pitch.

Such a shame he had the injuries he had.

Should rename himself ChineseWhispers.

No idea who id keep but i wouldnt be using the loan market again in the striking areas for sure .

It hasnt worked

Faal ,Brown ,and Sherif have barely scored a goal between them, Cole was good at the start then went poor ,and ended up going Luton where he is rarely in the squad .

I thought G Hall be a revelation coming from Birmingham , but lets be truthful he hasnt been, has he he is a 4 out of 10 player sometimes getting too 6 on a good day but overall not good enough ,final ball should be so much better than what is it majority of time, Hernandez offered more quality in 2 games than he as in numerous games ,cameos

The defence overall is ok and improving the creativity in midfield ,injuries , and the forwards have completely not being at the level they are and have missed chances what effectively have relegated us

On the subject of relegation again .

Ive no idea how CS and her family are feeling, but i should imagine they are feeling very let down by the players who earn more than enough too not getus relegated yet bloody  agaiin

The table doesnt lie come game 46

I feel for CS i really do i think some players have stolen a living this and 2 years ago campaigns ...

Luckily there excellent pros like C Hall and Garrity /Croasdale/Hernandez who lead by  example and overall its not them im pointing finger at  as you sure as hell cannot win football match with only 7 performing at max, and the other 4 thinking ill get a move snyway, no matter what i do or actually dont do ,and be found out till eventually there careers end up in non league as eventually work shy folk get there just dessserts as they nosedive out the football league ...

Mike Baggaley has said it looks like there are several players already under contract or have options in their contracts given Brady's answers to his questions.

Brady said to Radio Stoke and to the club after the Barnsley game that Stockley came off injured.

Whoever this is they just reword things that other, more reputable sources have already put out. Its laughable really.

Seems to spend most of his time arguing with people and claiming other people's stories/rumours as his own.

Gotta have that internet cred in ST6 I suppose. What could be more important to his self worth than that?

He is not a great choice if you are trying to find an example of poor judgement by a manager. He was an average league 2 player who never got any better because he was always injured. No great loss.

Bit harsh there k_s. Jake Taylor was one of the best midfield players Vale have had in the last 10 years, in the John Askey Covid season he scored 5 or 6 goals in ca 18 games and played a significant part in Vale nearly getting promo that season. When he rejoined Vale permanently he was left out by Darrel Clarke but started the last 5-7 games and played a major part in getting Vale to the play-offs. His performances in the play-offs and particularly the Wembley final were outstanding.

He was not a Darrel Clarke type player and had started to develop injury issues and was signed by Derek Adams at Morecambe.  Comments like, "The  best midfielder at Morecame I've ever seen, The most complete midfield player ever to play at Morecambe" or words to that effect were not uncommon on the Shrimps Fans Forum

Unfortunately for Jake Taylor he succumbed to injury and didn't full fill his massive potential, Vale were desperate for a midfield player of his ilk this season.

Perhaps but I always felt underwhelmed by him I think he looked decent when he was on loan but we rarely saw that player after we signed him. Maybe a handful of decent games but most games he contributed very little. He may have looked better in a Morecambe relegation side but it didn't amount to anything he played over 30 games in league two the following season without really making his mark then got released, presumably due to his injury issues. Another reason he is a bad example of a player we missed out on. There was nothing to miss whatever the reason he didn't go on to better things.
