Honestly once the R is confirmed against us (barring us actually making it to Wembley) at that point would be getting ahead of the curve on the retained list. Those who have no future shut them down for the season and just announce they’ll be leaving end of their contract. For any where it’s more contentious like say Ben Garrity can do a proper goodbye for them and then for me I’d go with those who will be here next season with a mixture of youth too. The retained list really should just be formalising what we already know by that point.

With Gary Mills and Richard O’Donnell joining, he largely has.

I think only Jamie Smith remains of the first-team coaches from DM’s era, and JB seems to rate him.

There’s also Gary Walsh the goalkeeping coach from DM’s era, but I don’t think you meant him?

It just seemed to be that DM had 200 coaches at the club 🙂 

If that's all there is left then fair enough because I can actually see Smith leaving as well at some point,maybe when DM gets another job. Then maybe he will bring Richards back here?

Got to question the 'talent' aspect of some in our team but Totti makes some really valid points about Italy not qualifying which are relevant to us, I feel. Have highlighted.

Despite some of the bad seasons we have had,this is the first time that i just wish this season was over(after Saturday of course),I usually hate it when the football finishes but not now

I just want to see that retained list,get rid of the dross and then the rebuild

Seen Rico Richards not even made the matchday squad for Walsall again. Not a particularly good sign if he can’t even do that. Know he has another year but he is one I think we’ll probably come to a settlement on this summer as for whatever reason his career has hit a brick wall.

He's one that comes back and a bunch of people commenting on Vale pages think he's as good as he was coming on for 20 mins having 5 mins of good play before getting gassed. Just needs a chance .... 

Didn't realise just how bad Tranmere are doing in L2, and there were people that really wanted us to keep Nathan Smith. They look like they are going down.

Silly comment. Port Vale heading for relegation, Waine is useless as is Byers, Hall etc.

By all accounts from their fans, Smith has been very good for them, they also have a striker in Whittaker I’d have at the Vale. You can’t pin a bad season on one or two players. I still think it was a mistake releasing Smith to be replaced with what we ended up with. 
 

Not saying we should get Smith back before some dumb wit says people are saying get Smith and Debrah back but IMO, you don’t let players go unless you have better replacements

Should have been brought back and given a chance before any decision is made. Is he worse than Archer or Shipley?  We’ve been down for weeks, should have given game time to Richard’s, Shorrock and Lomax, see if they are good enough and then make decisions on them.

Smith is a better defender than what we have. Not saying he is at league 1 level but he’s better than who we kept
