Summer transfer rumours/speculation and retained list

Brady gets all of next season for me. If things are looking up by Christmas then we extend his contract. If not then we can just run his contract to the end of that season and both parties make an amicable break when it expires. I think with his previous track record in that league at Northampton the former is more likely. People can talk about January but as has been mentioned by others I don’t think that’s a fair summation of what he’ll do as you’d have to be a complete mentalist to choose to come here in our present state if you had other options.

A good start for him will be a total cull of the out of contract. Only one I’m wavering on might be Stockley but he can’t be a first choice option. Transfer list others under contract he doesn’t want and hope someone will cough up a bag of balls to take them too.

I’d give him all of next season as well, personally I will give the Vale 2 months max in to next season which will give me time to see how the transfer window has worked and if it’s as bad as the last 2 windows I will be finding something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. Not blaming Brady totally for our transfers but it doesn’t matter who’s to blame it’s just not worth watching the gash which turns up week in week out.

Wrong thread but what are the goals next season? I don't want to get promoted like last season to just struggle again in league one. I'd take a top 7 finish and some stability if it meant building a squad capable of staying in league one

Promotion and not make the same mistakes we have last 2 seasons in division one. A cup run of some description as well.

The way we are playing at the moment and the results, I would say the first goal is not to drop out of the football league.

It can be a long road back from none league.  Sadly. 😢

Only have to look where Morecambe are.

Really struggling to find the motivation to renew my season ticket! We know after the Chelsea game it will be after the Lord Mayors show again. Same dross same mistakes same half hearted performances. How can we turn this malaise around. Plymouth must be laughing their socks off about us ! Pinching Tolaj off us which effectively relegated us and they are now edging the play offs.

Not just Plymouth.. every other team are laughing at us as they're guaranteed 3 points, absolute shambles of a season apart from the cup runs,if I could we from scratch ide love to have finished mid table and got knocked out of the cups in the first round

Since it is looking like a big clear out, a bounce back is not likely if lessons have been learnt. Collecting players off the peg, at a price may scrape a promotion, but without the character that a lengthier team build gives.

What did he have to say to make you think you think that?

The way he spoke and body language just gave me the impression he is not bothered.

Bradys interview the bloke was very emotional and he does care feel for him he’s had to work with some gash since being here.

I think this summer could and should see the biggest clean out we’ve ever seen of a squad. Even bigger than the Bruno season.

I really felt for JB in the interview, you could tell a few times that he really wanted to let rip but had to mentally restrain himself. I personally really like him and his ways - very much a vale type manager, and given a good run with his own choosings, we will be ohrate.

Id settle next season for some attacking football and firtle around with the playoff places - let face it, who doesnt love watching Waine and Hall careering hell for leather for through balls (admittedly they dunna know what do once they catch it, but you know, the thrill is in the chase) 😁👏💜💜👍

He knows full well who the players are that he wants out, who he thinks aren’t up to it and who aren’t putting in the effort. He probably knows that the squad make up is completely wrong too. Let’s hope he can right it in the summer.

Yep that was a big one too. Didn’t he bin everyone off who was out of contract? I’m sure we ended up with less than 10 players when he was done.
