I think the manager ruined him. He’s been promoted in his last 2 seasons from league 2, he has talent. He offers more than the likes of Shipley and Archer and should be given a go next year

Which manager?  Yes we loaned him out, but it's Walsall who haven't been playing him.  Also, he was at 2 promoted clubs in the previous seasons, but very much a bit part player both times.  It's not like he carried Vale and Stockport to victory time and time again.

I do agree but I think he has something to offer at that level. I was referring to Moore as well with his comments when he signed him

If he had anything to offer Walsall would have made use of him. If he isn’t good enough to make a matchday squad for them he definitely isn’t for us.

After following the club through thick and mainly thin since 84 , a ST holder during all that time, except when Smurf  appointed Aspin ( no irony intended with your username) and when family played for another club you are right.

I totally agree with you. Vale no longer are the club for me.I can’t support the ownership, club management or manager so I’m not.

I have moved on to new hobbies.

Good luck next season, i fear you and your  fellow supporters will need it.

It is certainly a bit of a head scratcher, but I think that we were into panic buying mode at that point.  I don't think the panic ever stopped, but hopefully things will be more controlled in the summer.

I know they haven’t a pot to pee in and we’ve done them big favours. Still I wouldn’t be putting Smudge on my shortlist - never go back and all that. The replacements for him haven’t been much better but that’s not a reason to just go back for him IMO.

They’ve got Smurf involved and owners who can’t sell. Turned into an absolute mess up there. All sorts of unrest. Probably held onto Crosby too long as well. I don’t think we should go back for smith, but what we haven’t replaced him with is players with character or desire.

Great attributes you want through the spine of the squad - Id say Garrity, John, Waine come closest to that. But we do need a strong CB like that. 
 

TBF to Nathan I think his physical attributes probably played against him when it came to Moore deciding which to keep. Was always a bit 50-50. 

I think the decision to get rid of Smith was the right one but I anticipated that we would bring in someone with a similar work ethic and desire but with better quality. As far as I can tell, we brought in Humphreys. It was never enough.

Fans debating over Nathan Smith says it all about our mindset in the club and on the terraces.
