Don't follow that logic.  The pitch was relaid and played great last season, the best it has done in my 62 years supporting the Vale.  This season, said pitch has failed.

Did you see how often they turned the sprinklers on ?  I know grass needs water to grow but they just pissed water on it far too much .

Never said it was easy.

I said we are particularly bad at it.

Example...

These are our loan striker signings over the last 3 years:

  • Mipo Odubeko
  • Matty Taylor
  • Josh Thomas
  • Antwoine Hackford
  • Jemiah Umolu
  • Mo Faal
  • Dajaune Brown
  • Martin Sherif

How can we get it so wrong, so consistently?

That is astonishingly bad it really is. Even with a scattergun approach you’d expect one to be half decent.
It’s my issue with loan signings and why I’m never particular optimistic. It feels to me that the club just signs any young lad on loan if they’re at a big club and hopes for the best, it doesn’t feel like research has been done at all and the above backs this.

Makes me laugh keep seeing people say G Hall is off in the summer. He’s on a 3 year deal and we paid several hundred k for him. No club in their right mind is matching that. If he wasn’t so quick he’d be in non league, as his end product is atrocious. He’s also hugely inconsistent, as shown by the difference in his performances v Bolton and Doncaster. Obviously there’s room for improvement, and I hope he tears up league 2, but there’s no evidence currently to suggest he’s too good for league 2.

There is not one single player who can, based off this season, claim they are too good to play in league 2 and abandon ship. They’ve all been culpable. Even last time we came down, no one could’ve blamed Garrity or Chislett for looking for league 1 exits.

None of our loan players are up to league 2 standard never mind league 1.

Amazing that we go into games with either Brown or Sherif up front on their own. Any manager worth hi salt should realise that. Okay we may not have much option at the moment but it's no wonder we have scored 29 goals all season

Campbell is far too weak to play in a league 1 defence and his awareness to danger seems none existent

Don't get me started on the out of contract players. Embarrassingly bad is all I can say and I presume not cheap

Agree with you that it is worrying that Brady is going into games with Brown or Sherif up front on their own, it does not work. Combined with a very average creative midfield, its the reason why we are the lowest scorers in the division.

Also worrying that Brady thinks Campbell is good enough for L1, I had seen enough after his first 2 games when he was directly responsible for conceding 2 goals, one was against Burton, forget which other. Then again, vs Bradford, looked completely out of his depth, still he gets picked after that.

Agreed on the Campbell one - you could tell after 15 mins of his debut that he didn't have the speed of mind to keep up at L1 level. Summed up by his slow reaction to the cross last night that ultimately resulted in him slicing it into his own net. I like Brady and believe he'll get us back up, but his liking of Campbell worries me.

And Shipley & Magloire.

You’ve got 3 CH’s in youth team that should be with the first team, Williams , Wara and Matthews

We’ll see next season whether he actually likes them or not. At the moment I’m hoping it’s just needs must, so he’s had to get behind them.

Magloire is more of an odd one since we sent Debrah out and brought him in. I don’t rate Debrah at all but he’s better than Magloire. Only thing I could think is maybe Debrah wanted out.

If he brings back Magloire next season and Shipley plays a lot then yeah it’s concerning.

I will certainly be questioning Brady's management if he offers Magloire a deal,I would sooner see the rated youth lad Williams play instead

As would I. He’s positionally very poor, distribution is on par with our other defenders bar Humphreys (AKA not good), and also very poor in the air. I assume in the past he was like Debrah in that his pace bailed him out, but he doesn’t seem particularly quick. I wonder if his injuries have ruined his pace. Feel sorry for the lad but I’d be very unhappy if we offer him a deal, and surprised if he gets another league club.

Why would you keep byres he gets a knock and spends most of  season on the treatment table what we need is match time for players to get match fit they stopped the resevere games because it was expencive so injured player cannot get match fit come back in to  first  team get a knock or pull a muscle out for weeks again.

I’d point out that Byers has had broken or chipped bones caused by bad challenges rather than minor injuries like strains and pulls and that the recovery time for things like that is much longer and unpredictable.
It’s not like he can mend bones any faster!!
