Agreed on the Campbell one - you could tell after 15 mins of his debut that he didn't have the speed of mind to keep up at L1 level. Summed up by his slow reaction to the cross last night that ultimately resulted in him slicing it into his own net. I like Brady and believe he'll get us back up, but his liking of Campbell worries me.

Not sure what you are basing his "liking for campbell" on. humphries has been injured heneghan is injured john is injured magloire is even worse so I'd say he is picking the only fit defenders in the squad. I don't see any evidence he likes any of them apart maybe from hall and gordon I think he would swap all the rest for better if he could.

I’d point out that Byers has had broken or chipped bones caused by bad challenges rather than minor injuries like strains and pulls and that the recovery time for things like that is much longer and unpredictable.
It’s not like he can mend bones any faster!!

He’s played Campbell over Gordon plus Headley who could play as left back plus how about Shorrock? Not ideal but still better than Campbell.

Shorrocks obviously not showing enough in training or he'd be in the match day squad how is he better than a lad who's come from premier league under 21s ...I fail to see your reasoning 🤔

"One of ours"

The lad is 18 though don't forget, I think some people have very inflated views on how good young players are and how best to guide them in their development.

He's got bags of time yet to develop. I'm sure there will be some saying we should bin him off because he's not the finished article yet. He probably isn't a starter but coming on as a sub when it's suitable probably isn't the worst idea in the world.

Took Kyle John until he was 23 to make a professional appearance for us.

Have a listen to Brady post-Doncaster and he clearly likes the kid. Praises him for playing in every position across the backline in recent weeks.

thats called man management it doesn't mean he rates him, if he tries to sign him that means he rates him otherwise he is just managing him. John is fit again and he is straight into the side for campbell. A better indicator I think. Campbell and magloire will both feature in games because he needs to rotate and we have nobody else. I think there are a number of players JB doesn't rate but he is playing them because he can only pick from what he has. campbell wont be here next season.

Just going back to the discussion on the retained list if there was any doubt before almost all of them can <ovf censored> off for me. We need a completely fresh start and thankfully it sounds like JB agrees if he holds true to his post match interview.

I think JB has made his mind up on what he has and will look at bringing in the youngsters after Chelsea. How much influence he has had in shaping next seasons recruitment we will have to wait and see.

Interesting people want Brady out, why though? He's working with a limited budget with a failing team, he's tried to move people about who want the door. He seems bothered and tries.

If it was his team, that he built and asked for, he could be blamed, we have injuries and no proper squad depth, people above him are the problem. We have a community manager running the club and give DM way too much time.

If not him who?! Who could have honestly fixed this mess.

Probably because I could count the acceptable performances on one hand. Granted this is not his mess, I agree, but he hasn’t showed a lot in his time. There have been some really odd selections and tactics throughout his tenure, utterly dreadful signings and I don’t really agree that he’s working with a limited budget.
He does try and shows passion, it’s the one thing I do like about him, but he hasn’t exactly impressed has he?
I think overall this is the worst vale squad I have ever seen so Brady will get the benefit of the doubt, that couple with the cup run has probably given him a chance next season.
The only way to fix this mess is a mass clear out. I wouldn’t care if every single player left. Yes there are a couple who try and are decent like Kyle John and George hall but I honestly couldn’t care if they all left.
Thats the only way to fix this, mass clear out of players and staff, get some qualified staff in at the top instead of the likes of Hancock and start concentrating on the football.
Im adamant next season will be a real slog. I think we will really struggle, our squad in my view would struggle in league 2 and a number are under contract. This with our extremely bad accounts makes a bad recipe in my view.

I feel very meh about Brady. Don’t really care if he stays or goes. Might do ok in league 2 but he hasn’t shown a great deal really other than some decent organisation in the cup games and some passion.

When I watched Brady’s interview on PVTV I see that the clueless muppet that is Hancock put out a video of his monthly update yesterday.

For my own sanity I couldn’t click on it.

Id rather have Flitcroft back as director of football than that political gormless clown as CEO another week longer.

Imagine putting that idiot in charge of footballing operations and Carol thinking he’s doing a great job.

The club is messed up at the top with an owner who might have been a successful businesswoman but in the world of football couldn’t run a bath, never mind a football club.

7 years in. 17 million in debt. No footballing assets on the pitch. About to sink to the bottom tier of pro English football again. A squad of utter tripe. A manager who doesn’t know what to do next. A CEO who wouldn’t get a PE teachers job. And an owner that we will NO DOUBT be seeing a lot of this week in tv and radio in the build up to the chelsea game.

This club is rotten.

When will Carol start to sort this <ovf censored> out?!!!!!

I will keep saying it. Hancock to the foundation or the kiddy’s crèche. Or sacked. Just <ovf censored> relieve the smug clown of his duties from this role Carol for <ovf censored> sake.

A clear out is a decent idea. Unfortunately the recruitment team that brought you Mahuire, Hernandez, Ward and Gray two months ago will be signing the new squad.

If that’s true then I’ve lost all faith in Brady. Campbell, although Young is way off league standard football and should be no where near in a league one starting line up. Same can be said for Magloire.

January and summer are completely different prospects.

Come to a team who can’t score, get beaten every week and are going down, also we’ve just sold our only decent players so it’s going to get worse - Jan.

We’re rebuilding, we’ve shifted who we can, be part of a new dynamic with a flexible budget and lots of room for recruitment, at a club recently successful in L2 with a successful L2 manager - summer.
