Walsall players can’t string more than 2 passes together, Cobblers no much better. Darren Moore’s Vale would batter these. 
Rico not shown much at all. Straw looks like he’s running in 20kg Steel toe-capped boots  I wouldn’t have any of those players in our squad. What a depressing watch 

 

If there is something underlying with Richards it begs the question why he hasn't been sacked or his contract cancelled, you wouldn't want to hang about at a club you had no chance of playing at even when you come back from a loan. Also if the gripe was Moore's then it would be Brady's perogative to assess it for himself and recall him? Unless of course its with another player still at Vale and it's a kind of me or him situation🤨 Bizarre situation and signing the more it goes on. I liked Rico last season and thought he was worth signing permanently then when Moore said those things to him in the piece on the official site you thought he'd be well in the plans. Although ala Curtis with Moore's tactics he'd have been in and out like the okie cokie.

Well it now looks like Rico isn’t coming back here this season. Hopefully Sadler sees fit to play him but then again seeing how they went about things tonight I’m not so sure. Won’t shock me if come retained list time we agree a settlement on his contract or at least transfer list him.

Very strange. He offers far more than Brown and if we are playing wingers, we currently have barely any. We’d need him as cover at least.

And even if we didn’t need him, I’m not sure why we haven’t recalled him to send him on loan elsewhere where he’ll actually play.

The treatment of Richards was just another in a long line of strange events at Vale.

We sign him on a 2 year deal. The club release a video where Moore is telling him how important he will be and how good he'll be in L1. Then a week later he's shipped out on loan for the season to L2.

On the first point - I thought Rico was very useful coming off the bench last season, albeit in a lower division and I'm surprised that after going to the effort of signing him, he then gets shipped off on loan. I would have thought he could (at the least) have done another "super sub" role this season.

On the latter - he can't play for anyone else. He played two games for Vale earlier in the season so with his appearances for Walsall he's hit the two club limit this season. So, the choice is either remaining at Walsall or coming back to Vale, he can't go anywhere else unless he drops out of the Football League (think he can still play in Scotland and National League).

There must be something that isn’t being said about Richards. It’s inexplicable, given what was said by Moore at the start of the season as to why he’s not been recalled. Something has seemingly gone on, but we don’t know what.

I think the recall would only happen if Vale are confident he'd get more gametime with us. He can't go on loan elsewhere so it's either Vale or Walsall.

Perhaps they've opted for thinking his chance will eventually come at Walsall and he'll get more games there than here.

I wouldn't personally agree with that but I can see it may be someone's viewpoint especially with our large squad.

Maybe Walsall being crafty. Richards has a good run of form,  then we recall him. Unlike last season when they had a high performing loan recalled and upset their promotion chance. Brady has plenty of time to review him for development next season  or otherwise.

I'm surprised the two clubs per season limit is even legal in terms of employment law. Whatever has gone on with Rico here, it's clearly hurting his career, when he has no option to play elsewhere & doesn't really seem to be in Vale or Walsall's plans this season. I'm sure there are & have been other players in the same boat.
