With the best will in the world in our 1st season up after a single season in league 2 following a league 1 relegation we were never going to be 5 points off the play offs unless we matched Bradford’s spending which given the disparity in gates is impossible, it was always going to be a relegation battle.

It’s just really disappointing how we are so far behind. It takes a lot of doing to be so far adrift of safety come Christmas.
Highly likely we will be in League 2 next season but where theres life there’s hope.
Great effort by SVA today and some kind of result would keep the momentum going.
I'm not sure there is a huge spending disparity. A couple of other owners have noted that we have a very healthy budget for this league. We just had clueless Moore spending it.

We're not cash strapped Port Vale anymore

Agreed.

Kudos to Carol and the club’s Dimensions and other projects, together with the fantastic work of the Vale Academy.

Depends on how you define cash strapped. If Bradford's owners are putting in as much money as Carol there will still be a massive disparity in playing budgets because they get nearly 3 times our average attendance.

Charlton could be looking to loan out striker/winger Isaac Olaofe

For me someone like that or Elliot Lee on loan would be a million times better than having Brown from Derby but the problem we have is obviously being so rooted to the bottom of the table,if we were say 10th and 5 points off the play offs they are the type of players you should target

The club has so much to answer for sadly

They would but both are established EFL players with clubs paying significant weekly salaries.  You could just as easily make a case for loaning Harry Kane, who is a much better player than Brown at the moment.  Brown will be on a much lower salary than Olaofe or Lee and we are probably only paying a percentage, which is the norm for younger players.  If the other 2 go somewhere their parent clubs will want salaries covered pretty much in full and possibly even a loan transfer fee.

There aren't many places that are without some grass nearby and if you've got a ball you're good to go. They were the only facilities most players like Rooney needed.

I think we might see some movement this week after JB has had a good look at his players and i am sure he will know who is up for the fight or not

And Emile Heskeys dad was in the band showwaddywaddy

They did a question and answer in a music magazine years ago with the black guy from Showwadywaddy and his favourite football team was Port Vale.

Agreed. But we are bottom of the league by a long way.

best we can hope for is to stumbled across a decent loan player like we did with Arblaster

Indeed.

The city of Liverpool has long had an exemplary junior and mini football leagues system.

Another of the band had a son that played for Luton Town

Yes I never mentioned cash strapped. But after the last few seasons and more changes of directions than Kier Starmer I think being 5 points off the play offs this season is unrealistic.

It does look like Johnsons contract wont be extended and now let the rumours commence about Paton and Walters
