Curtis Nelson signed for MK dons from Derby and played well on his debut. We could have gone for him good solid centre half and was local.

He is not going to pick Port Vale over MK Dons

Where’s it been reported that Johnson has gone, I’ve not seen it.

It was reported. Although we havent seen a lot from him his crossing has been good and he was an option to play with Stockley on the pitch.

Destructive nonsense from the pair of you.

And also ill-informed ignorance about the demands of running any major business, let alone a business that operates in the illogicality of the football world, where it is virtually impossible for the vast majority of clubs to come remotely close to breaking even.

Carol and Kevin are the best owners this club has ever had - my opinion based on approaching 70 years supporting the club, and on my experiences of personally running substantial businesses.

The only patience I'm concerned about is theirs, continuing to pour in endless time and effort and resources while also having to tolerate the likes of you two.

They are brilliant at running everything, apart from the football team.

The only thing that's been ill informed and destructive this season has been there lack of ability in the transfer market and inactivity when it came to sacking a failing manager. Torpedoed this season, just like the did last time we got promoted.

If ever a board needed a sporting director it Port Vale as board has zip football knowledge, Sproson or Foyle

Disgracefully we have 15 nils in the 24 games played.

A staggering stat.

15 zeros

What a joke

Not good at all .

Is Cole the goal or is has he lost his way .

Do we play like a team who are desperate too score .

The 1 nil defeats many of them do we throw our big centre halfs forwards .

Do like JB, but its a big ask now all i want is for the supporters ,now is a bit of joy in remaining games, and set ups that create chances if dont score then its not the teams fault its the individuals .

Paton not even on the bench what a joke ,and Brown starting who quite clearly is not up too the job and if he is why is he missing easy 1 on 1 s at critical points in game .

Your ignorance runs so deep that you don't even realise that you are ignorant.

For you, it's all at the level of the Football Manager game, just doing stuff with pretend resources in an imaginary world, and then if it all cocks up you can just press reset and start again.

Our owners have really pushed the boat out in transfer activity, players of the pedigree of Devante Cole, George Hall and George Byers have serious costs at levels unavailable to the majority of clubs in EFL1 and EFL2.

And "sacking a failing manager" is just a simple matter in your imaginary world; there are no real-world difficulties and costs involved, you just have to demand it and then it will magically be done, and that will magically make everything better.

Grow up!

Whilst I agree that the owners have done a lot for the football club in a positive way, they should not be immune from criticism. Just because they pour their own money into a football club doesn't make them unique. In fact, the team we played yesterday has a family who does exactly the same thing.

We should be grateful for the money that they invest in the club but they could have saved a huge amount of wasted money by listening to the fans occasionally.

Money isn't the only thing that owners bring to the table. We should trust them as stewards of the club to make the right decisions for the future of the club. What's been demonstrated over nearly 7 years is that the bad decisions far outweigh the good. We're back, in potentially worse shape, than when they first took over.

They desperately need more football people in the club rather than IT people trying to run a football club.

A lack of criticism and accountability leads to continued poor decisions. Would you prefer us to keep quiet and spiral into non league rather than criticise when it is warranted?

We are 11 points adrift, the worst team in the league, but I'm the one who's ignorant 😅

Do such real world difficulties only apply to port vale? Only reason I ask is that every other relegation threatened club seems to sacked there failing manager way before us, Huddersfield sacked there's yesterday despite being in a much better position than us. Why did real world difficulties only apply to vale and meant that we left it untill we were completely cut adrift.

Of the current bottom 4, we are the only one who've failed to do any transfer business. Donny have brought in 5 players, Rotherham and Northampton one a piece. Still it's not as easy as it is on football manager at vale park don't you know!!!?!!

You keep blindly sticking up for them though bud, I'm sure someone at the club will notice soon and give you a little treat!

Really?

In what role?

You are conducting a long-running campaign to demand that the owners step aside, so that other owners can come in to replace them.

While having not the slightest idea who those supposed new owners might be.

In other words, you are proposing major changes on an entirely unplanned basis and hence you are completely irresponsible.

Leading me to doubt your supposed experience in corporate finance.

Unless of course you are merely another underhand Stokie trying to harm our club.

They aren’t running the football team, that’s why we employ a manager and the coaching staff, and a D.o.F. in the recent past.  The football side is entirely down to those individuals.  The only thing we can question is the timing of the removal of these failing individuals, but we have no idea of the contractual situation so can’t make an informed judgement on this.

Your ignorance runs so deep that you don't even realise that you are ignorant.

If there were cost implications in sacking the manager, then that's down to poor decisions at management level. The club should never be held to ransom by a failing manager if they can't afford to get rid. The option to sack should be accessible at any point.

I don't think anyone underestimates the difficulty in owning a football club. But some of the decision making isn't even hard and they're getting it repeatedly wrong.

Again, this isn't being ungrateful or unappreciative, it's pointing out that we were told lessons had been learnt, when they clearly haven't. We held on to a failing manager too long last time we were in this division.

Then be accountable yourself.

Explain in your view what are the bad decisions they have taken and what you would have decided instead, and on what basis.

------

If you can manage that in any rational form, then please have a go at justifying this utter absurdity -

"We're back, in potentially worse shape, than when they first took over."

Really?

Worse than the clutches of Smurthwaite?

Do tell.
