For my mind we attracted good players when we came back up to EFL1, too.  Sadly, Moore chose to play an awful style of football which has cost us dearly.  Brady has to turn around the 15 Nil events and find a way of a) getting us scoring and b) winning games.

The summer recruitment was very poor at best. Same as last promotion. Do we really want league one football or not. Got to build a League One back bone first.

Thats your view and you're entitled to it.  We have the players capable of doing the business; we just had a sh!te way of playing.  We're still not down yet

Would say the building blocks are there for us now with how Brady is setting us up to give things a go. Still only played one league game under him as well and it was away at that.

Should point out though that people largely supported a lot of recruitment at first. It's very easy with hindsight to say recruitment is bad, when things do not turn out. We won't get them all right.

Agreed.  Some on here are saying Mansfield were rubbish on Satdee; this is the team who put 4 past Sheff U in the cup and tore us a new one in the second half.  If Brady can get us to play all the time like we did in the first half or against Bolton then we should have a fighting chance at least.

We are down yet but every game that goes by without winning makes it harder

Either going to be one hell of a ride or a completely flat next few months

Has anyone actually seen or heard of any realistic incoming transfer targets this month? It is becoming increasingly worrying that we may just have to work with what's in the building. I have seen mumblings of Marv being linked with Chesterfield which is frustrating!

I had noticed that the winger mansfield brought on was a young lad on loan from spurs making his professional debut. Shame we hadn't noticed him earlier a direct left winger who gets at fullbacks would be lovely right now!

On Saturday although we had good numbers in the away end I must admit it did seem fairly flat which is obviously understandable, Exeter at home is massive and hope we can get off to a quick start to keep VP onside.

At the very least decide who to keep and the positions we need. A few weeks yet to sort this season out.

Zip. Nada.

All points to Moore being given the budget and him blowing it.

I honestly don't think we can expect much in the way of incoming transfers. Whether we think they're good enough or not - and evidence points strongly to not right now - recruitment in the summer left us with a lot of players on the books, and (assuming the manager decides to play a system that makes sense) competition in every position.

Barring a few more exits, I can't see the logic in committing to probably-expensive desperation signings. (And I suspect strongly that Devante Cole was an expensive desperation signing, anyway.)

The best move is for Brady to try to galvanise the squad we have to achieve something magnificent, and to assess properly for reconfiguring the squad again this summer based on the success/failure of that. If we commit to more contracts now, we would inevitably leave very little opportunity to make good decisions for next season, which could easily mean two rotten seasons on the bounce.

I don’t know why we don’t try and get Ennis who is a winger on loan at Fleetwood. Give him the ball and just let him keep putting the crosses into the box for the marauding Cole & Stockley, to launch themselves at.

There was a few including myself who highlighted that we had signed essentially a load of squad players, or players that weren’t necessarily any better than what what had.

To only add one centre back was criminal. You can’t go into league 1 with starting centre backs of Hall and Debrah, we did this last time. They’re not good enough.

I was less than impressed with a fair few signings, Marosi and Waine in particular, can’t say I was overly pleased with Gordon either but he’s done ok.

To me it just feels like we did what we always do, sign quantity over quality. The actual first team players we sign have long history’s of injury’s like Gabriel and Hall. And then fill the squad with a load of loans. Last year in league 2 it felt like there was a real process of who we targeted this year it’s back to the scattergun approach.

Moore had a decent budget, blew it and then for some reason Carol backed him for 2 months too long

They also beat Bradford 3-0 at home not long ago

If that happens I think you will start seeing some really disgruntled fans really stating to question the ownership of the club. Losing our best player and another creative one to a league 1 relegation rival is one thing. But losing probably our most consistent player to a league 2 side would be something else and I think fans would start kicking off.

I think it’s too much of an ask now, we’re too far behind. That second half capitulation isn’t the makings of a side that will survive. First half was brilliant but I can’t see us scoring enough to get the points. Points to a complete reset again in league 2
