He’s also cost us points though. He should’ve saved the goals against Lincoln and Plymouth, both of which we lost 1-0.

Don't get the hype with Gauci, yes he commands his area better, but his distribution is shocking and he has put us under so much unnecessary pressure from his drop/goal kicks. 

Definitely not better than Amos in that category.

Distribution not great I agree. But Amos isn’t exactly good at it either. In fact shocking in his last league game.  I think he’s a good keeper. Was excellent in his first 5/6 games, he’s dropped off granted but he’s a considerably better keeper imo.

Ones an international keeper who was recently brought for a large fee and the other was signed as a back up in league 2.

Goalkeepers generally get better as they get older as well, and Gauci has time on his side there. 

I'd generally lean towards Gauci myself. Can't see Villa keeping him so I'm interested what happens with him end of season. 

Nobody knows the terms of the loan. 

We do have 3 keepers on the books. One needs to go and it seems like Marosi isn't going to be playing. If we can loan him out that seems like good business to me 

Would like to see us go for some younger players to develop in this window and the summer.

The Tolaj deal has to be the blueprint for us. Sign young promising players, develop them, sell for profit.

Our scouting needs to be much improved for that to happen though - feel like we've signed some dross recently.

Nuggets of information - yes. But I doubt very much anyone is going to tell a fans podcast the details of a player's wage and I would doubt that most people at the club would know that anyhow. 

I suspect no-one apart from a few people in the club and at Villa know for sure.

Someone mentioned some kind of incident without giving any detail as the reason why he was sent out so quickly. No idea what or if true but it does seem odd that he's not been recalled as have Plant and Shorrock
