I think we'll be very lucky to get Shipley out.

From his perspective - if he's under contract till 2027 he's under no obligation to drop down to the (for example, Newport) bottom of L2. He could sit put and do nothing. Alternatively, he could sit put and believe he can win his place back. Either way, it's down to him and a drop to L2 may not suit him.

From clubs' perspective - will there really be that many takers? I can't imagine there's a queue for someone who's generally been poor for L1's bottom placed team.

Personally, I think a move would be good for club and player. I don't think he adds anything to our side and a move elsewhere may be good for him to get regular football and perhaps revive his career.

So if Brady finds a player before 7pm tomorrow then he needs to run him by Darnbrough, provided he’s not in Poland and/or freelancing for someone else.

...and then hope that Wolstanton United don't also need paperwork doing at the same time!

Anyway back on track for the rumours thread

Just to state that this is clearly a RUMOUR but one for BJ as it's off a twitter account 😉

It links us to a Belgian 2nd division striker  Leandro Rousseau which is a pretty random name to pluck out of the air 22years old and has 11 goals in 21 games

Before this gets ripped apart it is a RUMOUR and that's what this thread is for,so if you dont like it then dont read the thread 🙂

We all love a good rumour. Let's run with it no matter how unlikely it may be. Here's a compilation of his highlights. I have to admit, the quality of the defending on some of these is not quite up to  L1 quality!

It is more likely, as he gets unhappy with being out of the side that he looks for a move.

My guess would be Walsall next season, either permanent or on loan would be a preference for him, given his ties to Coventry.

I agree with those who interpreted Bradys interview as evidence that we have nobody ready to come in and he hasn't been supported in the transfer market.

We sit bottom of the league and we have weakened our squad.

Its all well and good Brady sitting in the railway to find out if the fans still believe and are ready to back the players but that's of no use when it seems to me that it is the ones at the top who have given up and are just preparing for league 2.

Begs the question is it even worth going for promotion from league 2 again of they aren't going to find the funds to prepare us for anything more than another relegation battle in league one.

Different manager, we have a poor overpaid squad due to Moore, im sure Brady would make a better fist of it given the same budget.

Just saved everyone the effort and looked up this Rousseau chap.

Apparently he believes private property is the source of inequality and the social contract outlines the basis for a legitimate political order. I like him already, though I'm sure some on here will be shouting "off with his head" right from the get go.

Realise it’s just a rumour but my only concern with lads from lower foreign leagues is they are usually ill equipped physically for the English game. Can take them time to get up to speed, time we don’t have. We need some bench warmers from the championship or some 1st team starters from league one, two or the conference.

If he's anything like Leandro Trossard then sign him up

Rumours are all good but it’s when people like Unofficial Vale make up about Devante Cole then that’s completely different

Slightly off topic but I am trying to get 4 tickets for the Burton game. I had STs 2 years ago,go to log into my account with my email address, put my password in,I've had to change it repeatedly because the system keeps saying TOO MANY INVALID LOGINS. YOU ARE LOGGED OUT.TRY AGAIN IN 30 MINUTES.

I have had several links to reset my password, only to get the same result.

Any ideas anyone?

TIA

We should get Marvin back for that game only

While I can understand the sentiment of fighting till it's mathematically over, surely the Cole sale makes sense long-term. Realistically we're down. He's on (probably) sky high wages and has three more years under contract.

We can't really sustain his wages as a L2 club and when his contract ends he would be nearly 34 (and we've seen how veteran players lose a yard of pace etc).

Surely it makes sense that if we can get a reasonable fee for him now, we have to cut our losses.

The fact that we signed him literally a few months ago and now are describing how bad a deal that is says everything about recruitment at the Vale.

You are aware that Vale won away from home rant you ?, what would make you happy ? Because less than 24 hrs after the win you are on a downer again. I would suggest if you don’t like life in the lower leagues you go and support Arsenal, even though I’m guessing you would find something to whinge about.

Fully agree, Shipley’s going to be a hard push, but I think his remaining time here will be as uncomfortable as possible. I think ultimately he’ll get a settlement on his remaining contact and be sent to the train station in the first available Uber.

Another name circling the transfer rumour world is Victor Naldrane. Been linked with us a few times so hopefully we can nail this one this time
