We miss Croasdale and Byers a lot when they are both out of the side.  One offers protection to the defence with his tackling and workrate, the other gives us some creativity. We need to make sure they play together as much as possible to get some cohesion.  Bad day today - we need to put it behind us and get a striker in quickly.

Just one?

That wasn’t good enough and needs to change sharpish.

We often prise the Vale for nullifying the home team in the first half and then blitzing them in the second.

Doncaster gave us a masterclass in that today.

All the other promoted sides have adapted and are playing well and picking up points.

We are in danger of sliding into a rut that will be hard to get out of.

Now… rant over.

We have the opportunity to invest the Toj money and make a difference to the first team.

Difficult week, take it on the chin and move on.

We were far better in the first half.

But we had nowt to show for it

We're not ruthless or streetwise enough

The end of one of the worst weeks in our club's history. Great way to reward our long-suffering, loyal fan base!

The money better be reinvested in the team this week, including a goal-scorer, or fans will turn very quickly. Possibly the worst August I can remember as a Vale Fan.

Frustrated doesn't come close, but my comments would only be censored if I vented how I'm feeling at the moment.

Let's hope things turn around quickly and dramatically. 😡🤬

Apparently the record lowest amount of points in league one is 25 by Stockport in 09/10.

I reckon we could be record breakers the way we are going.

So. We have matched our unwanted record of not winning our first 5 games since 1998

But it does show we can compete. If we got our noses in front it's a different result. I'm gutted, but I still believe we're just a decent striker away from being a pretty good L1 team.

It's not been a great week, but there have been far, far worse weeks than this one in the clubs history.

Moore has carried straight on from last time in league 1

You really are a T**t of the highest order.  You never seem happier than when the Vale lose.  When we get a good result you are nowhere to be found.  Strange that.

There's a difference between competing and a difference to having a soft under belly , continuously giving away sloppy goals and not having the capability to put the ball in the opposition net doesn't bode well

If it's a striker who can find the net regularly, yes.  I happen to think we need strengthening at the back too, so I'm not sure if all the Tolaj money will go on our strike force, though we could justify that after our performance in front of goal so far this season. One goal from a striker who is now gone, one from the loanee, and one from a defender - it doesn't look good.  We could go in to non league for a second striker, but given that Paton is still at the club and that experiment hasn't yet worked, I think we need to make sure we get someone who is a known goalscorer at this level, and that isn't going to be easy at this late stage of the transfer window.  So if it was one expensive striker, fine, but we may need more than that.
