Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Featured Replies

Id imagine DM wants players in before preseason camp. Most of our business was done early last time, wouldn't surprise me if transfer business is largely over in 2-3 weeks.

So if I had to guess we will get a keeper even possibly a big upgrade as priority, we can't have just a league two keeper for league one. I still think we need another wing back defender and 2 attackers, midfield and striker.

Id sell hart and paton. If we can sell heneghan I'd get a big cb with experience. Now we have shown what we can do under this manager we should be getting better access to loans.

Exciting times.

Harness to Huddersfield is a great signing for them.

They'd be my early title favourites, Ryan Ledson is a great signing too. Only question mark is the new manager.

Ben Amos played 319 games in which the majority of them have been in the either the championship or league one.

The season just gone is the first time in his career that he’s dropped down to League 2.

You are really doing him a dis justice

We will get a keeper, if they are any good. Possibly Onana from ... Horrible position, Amos has done well. 35 years old,

Otherwise we trust them. did what was needed made a few mistakes, but also made some good saves.

Remember at school, will you go in goal and it started with an F and fininished with an F 🙂

When have I been negative? I stated a fact- we have been quoted as interested in another player who has had a knee ligament injury. May I point out, without you being precious that Mitch Clark has had quite a bit of time on the sidelines down to a torn ligament in his knee, which ruled him out for most of the 23-24 season, his latest injury was a broken neck which is very unfortunate and rare yet there are many who question his ability to stay fit.

How do you know the players are a lot better? Have you been scouting them or watching them play over the last couple of seasons? Not being negative, I am more than happy we have signed a right back as this is one of the positions I’ve said we need to sign, is Gabriel any good? I don’t have a scoobie, I can’t recall watching him play but will judgement after a few games rather than trust your untold knowledge about all these players who we are signing or being linked with.

My point really relates to Iheikwe, when everyone else seems to think it would be a great signing, and his injury record is just one injury in the last few years, you immediately jumped to the conclusion we shouldn't sign him based on that injury.

With reference to Gabriel, I have seen him play above once thanks to watching Blackpool a few times, and he looks streets ahead of what we've got.

Still think our name is being used by his agent to bump up his contract more than any legit interest but either way looks like Dennis is heading to Notts.

If he is a right back and purely right back then he will not fit in to our 3-4-2 so either Moore is changing our formation which I think is unlikely or Gabriel will be played in either a RCB role or a RWB role- take your pick.

Well that wasn't what I was asking I was asking if he had ever played as a centre back whether rcb or whatever but following your logic are you also expecting headley to be playing lcb next season?

I think Gabriel been brought into play rwb but I’m just guessing at that

I agree

Gabriel's definitely a RWB.  From Blackpool's description of him he's a right sided Headley.

Creates going forward but needing 3 good centre halves to cover for him as defending isn't entirely why he's on the pitch.

Totally agree,it might be we look for a young keeper with potential as back up,when I say young I dont mean Davis young,I mean maybe 23/24

Although he seems to be a player with potential I dont think it would be a massive loss as i am sure there are plenty more young strikers with potential out there

More likely to be a starter at Notts, but wouldn’t see him dislodging Stockley or Tolaj. Poor old Walsall, can’t attract anyone with their current demise 🤣

I'd like to see that sort of approach. If the club see potential in young Arron Davies then I would hope for a loan (or loans) out this season. The ideal signing would then be someone in his mid-twenties with potential who can challenge Amos and potentially become number one (with potentially Davies then moving up to understudy).

I wonder what they thought of Nathan Broome? He obviously didn't get a chance (bar one Trophy game) but he fits that sort of profile - aged 23 with experience? He's got a year left on his contract but Vale are not adverse to a fee if they think it's the right signing.
