I think it might be guesswork with us being linked with him or it might just be what he would like

Another player who’s sustained knee ligament damage in the last few years

Can someone provide a list of L1-level (or above) players who have been leg injury (ligament, hamstring etc) free in the last few seasons? I suspect there won’t be many - players like Smudge are few and far between and even then he wasn’t seen as high end L1-level by many.

Will be interesting to see if they are as rare as 20 goal a season strikers we can afford.

It’s all about how we play. Garrity didn’t score as many last season for example compared to previous but was utilised very differently. We need to focus on the right profile for the way we play and not too much on the stats. Paton a key example of this from last season, of a striker with a goal record elsewhere but didn’t quite fit.

Are you EVER happy about anything the football club does?

If Carol gave you ten billion quid you'd probably complain it wasn't ten billion and one.

In terms of the back line, hopefully Mitch says:

It could leave us with the options:

RWB

Clark

John

Gabriel

RCB

Gabriel

Debrah

CCB

Heneghan

LCB

Hall

Hart

John

LWB

John

Headley

Hart

Shorrock

If we could add someone like Ihiekwe to that as CCB we would be looking well placed.

He is at risk for it as is the nature of that injury but otherwise has a decent injury record, playing 432 games despite being dropped for much of the last two seasons - meaning he hasn't been ran into the ground recently.

To some folk, every single one of life’s problems could be solved by a ‘proven 20 goal striker’. They’d end the Ukraine war if parachuted in.

Don't let that stop Phil's desire to see the end of the world, a massive tax bill, Stoke winning the Premier League and energy prices going up 600 percent in three days. He won't like facts stopping his day from being brightened.

Tony Naylor could stop World War Three?
