Fair point. I think he should have been used in the home games when we know the opposition will sit deep. He offers a different alternative than the mindless lump forward towards Stockley that we specialise in.

I agree with the majority of games but he was easily the best player on the pitch at home to Wrexham first half then for some strange reason Moree takes him off at half time and we get dicked.

He’s only good enough for cleaning bogs tbf

Yeah, and those portable toilets on the way into the Railway stand had not been cleaned since Saturday. There was half a burger in the far left one when I went pee and Saturday, it was still there last night and the bog was filthy.

Get him cleaning that fooker! 🤮🤮

If we're not prepared to have a good go at bottom half League Two sides at home when promotion is at stake, then god help us if/when we come up against top half League One sides next season.

There’s some sheets being changed this morning 😂

You’re right mate. DM, his staff and the players soiled the bed last night.

Shat themselves.

That is Moore cleaning the bogs! He just saw that half burger and thought the effort was good enough.

I would hope DM is man enough to know and admit that he got it massively wrong last night with his starting lineup. I understand what he was trying to do, save his best players energy for the Crewe game, But....... Isn't it DM who always says "we just need to concentrate on winning the next game" so he blows his own theory straight out of the water.

Also - the ref was a disgrace. How can you not book them for time wasting. Then he keeps pointing at his watch all the time but only adds on 4 minutes. Joke.

Normally we see Refs. add ridiculous amounts of extra time to a game, especially when we are winning by one goal but apparently not when we are losing...

Vale are 4th in the table, ask Carlisle and Morecambe fans if they would like some of DM's 'not learning ".

I'm sure they would love to trade places. But I don't think carlisle and Morecambe are a good yard stick for us.

With what Moore has I.e. a very capable and large squad, stable and supportive owners, good facilities at the level, his own backroom staff etc. the lottery of playoffs will be an underachievement. I believe this under achievement is a lot down to his decisions and his tactics thought out the course of the season.

The cards he was handed at the start of the season should result in top 3. Anything else is on him and the way he has played the cards.

<ovf censored> football… my dad warned me if you like winning don’t play and follow football.

Should have listened to him.

If we don’t go up this season i strongly believe Moore will be gone.

I hope you are right

19 home games.

We've had 6 nils.

So pretty much 1 in 3 homes we have failed to score.

I'd imagine that's some achievement for a side in 4th.

The calibre of sides who have kept clean sheets at Vale Park is pretty disgusting including 3 of the bottom 4.

We've only scored more than 1 goal in 34% of games this season.

Surely the objective is promotion. If we fail that I don’t see how he’s still in the job mate. People can talk about 5 year contracts as much as they want. They mean nothing. Darrell Clarke is a perfect example of that.

I'm not particularly Moore in or Moore out. I think he's doing well, both the league table and our unbeaten run in 2025 suggest that. However, given the money he's been allowed to spend and squad (or best XI anyway) he's got at his disposal he should be doing well in this league.

His style of football is cautious, but so far this season, it's working. 4th in the league level on points with 3rd with 8 games to go is a great spot to be in. I can live with cautious football that gets us up (if it does).

That being said, last night was completely his fault. If the team that started the second half started the game, I honestly think we win at least 2-0. We blew them away second half and on a different night a few of those chances that hit the woodwork go in and we are all coming away happy.

I suggest he was guilty of thinking last night was a gimme compared to the tough tests ahead. I'd like to see us switch back to the formation that has seen us have the most success this year, three in the middle and two up front. We look infinitely better with Gaz, Walter and Croas in the middle.

What it does highlight to me is the fact that the squad is paper thin below the best 14-15 players. In any game where we need to play some combination Harper, Hackford, Jerry, Hart, Hen, Lowe or Amos and we go from promotion contenders to league 2 also rans. We better hope everyone decent can stay fit for the next 8 games.

A great post that mate 👍🏻
