Touch early to be crowing about anything in the season IMHO.

 

Not really bothered by what Rico is or isn't doing for Chesterfield, but am delighted with the work Pope clearly has put into his game and fitness and the fact it has begun to bear fruit. Let's hope that continues for a long time to come.

Richards probably was the same in his first season for us in League One.

Don't tempt providence. Rico was good and I'd rather he'd stayed. But I didn't think it would be a major disaster if he left. So far so good, seems it has freed us up a bit. Early days, but let's hope it stays that way. Credit to Dodds Pope and Williamson (who hasn't scored, but has looked a handful when he's come on). And the midfield have looked more threatening.

What Richards can't do is walk into Chesterfield and expect to be lord of the manor like he was here.

 

To get the best out of Richards you perhaps have to sacrifice something as a team to accommodate him, which Sheridan probably isn't prepared to do.

 

Also, did he have his ankle operation over the summer? He's been needing one for at least a year now.

I'll bet anyone on here Richards scores more this season than golden balls Pope. I like Popes work rate but he's a poor footballer, Richards has class and composure, anyone who reckons Pope is a better player is a moron but we have to play the hand we got.

No one on here has even said that pope is better than Richards, Richards is better than pope but pope give 100 percent where as Richards was lazy sometimes and only scored as many as he did last season cause of pope and set pieces.
