based on what i have seen since the opening day. we have little chance of getting promoted with that squad. we are miles off where we need to be.

I’m struggling to see your point here? We are 5th, and bang in it going into the second half of the season, with key players returning and the January window opening to add fresh legs and quality to see us over the line.

What do we achieve with sacking Moore now?

What we achieve is giving a new manager the opportunity of joining a club in with a chance of promotion, if we leave this another 6/7 games we can kiss the season goodbye and waste another transfer window.  Let's get someone in now while there is a chance of doing something this season.  We are only going one way and that is down the table with Moore in charge, we don't look like winning a game of football, the football is awful to watch.  Other than Garrity who played today, which key players are you referring to, please don't include Byers as he can't be trusted to stay fit and we are not going to get more than 15 matches out of him.  Stockley has been awful for weeks and Clarke and Hart both made of glass and will struggle to stay fit for long.

Sort of irrelevant if he destroys any attacking threat by subbing Tolaj for Hackford, though.

He basically accepted the 0-0 at that point, knowingly or otherwise. The fans booed the sub, knowing it was crap, and we immediately looked much poorer with no outlet.

It was just such a poor decision. He's being paid a load of money to make a decision every average fan knew instinctively was very bad. That's enough evidence that we can perhaps do better.

In the context of my question of course it’s relevant.

To your point that’s in game management which you can agree with the decision or not. I didn’t agree with it either.

The team visibly dropped back and lost intensity when Garrity goes off. Chizzy might as well stayed on the subs bench.

Well, worded pretty crap.

We're 9th in the bookies list.

Walsall 1/4 on.

Looks like Rhyl for me rather than somewhere exotic.

As frustrating as 0-0 may be, I thought we were much improved today.

The return of Smith added some much needed fight at the back, the return of Garrity was absolutely massive, and Tolaj performed as well as we’ve seen probably for two or three months.

I’ve banged on about needing a competent midfield partnership, and today highlighted how pivotal one is. Garrity showed us what we had been missing since the end of October.

Don’t get me wrong the lack of goals is a concern but a couple of January additions to compliment our attack, coupled with the full return of Byers and Garrity, will see us hopefully get back to where we were back in September and October.

Thank you, Portvale4, a rational, constructive post.

You can’t argue that a fully fit Byers, as well as Harper, Stockley and BBB, who all being well should return within 3-4 weeks wouldn’t add positively to this squad.

I’m struggling to think of a manager who would come in now and make such a big impact on this squad?

Moore isn’t faultless. His substitution of Tolaj was baffling. Let’s be honest, he wouldn’t be at Vale if he wasn’t prone to errors, let’s not forget DC made plenty. For me, he has proven in the first few months of the season, with a fully fit squad, which includes a competent midfield, he has all of the attributes to mount a decent promotion push. Barring the Bradford and Grimsby debacles, Moore has made us a hard outfit to beat. There is a good chunk of football left to play.

Have to disagree mate.

Byers barely can be judged, played about 6 games. Our winning streak was when he was out.  Harper , jury out for me, nothing exceptional despite his pedigree. Stockley so far has failed to deliver actually only scoring in 3 fixtures. A big flop.

BBB was fringe at best, sometimes not even in the squad, physically weak whilst talented.

So all they'll be is options, nothing fantastic.

He has been paid off at every club for making players worse not as daft as he looks

We’re L2, it’s not like he’ll get another league job. It’ll be non league after us.

We are always waiting for’key players returning’ - they either take ages to do so or go and get injured straight away as again

Bet you cant get a each way bet at 40s

Come on you got be having a laugh .

We are a team of nothingness .

Home team playing like away team second half giving them all the impetus .

First half apart from not scoring was OK, John put through in good positions twice first shot, powderpuff second shot better but wide Curtis through saved when he should be hammering it in and on melee on rebound Tolaj has somehow hooked it wide ,Tolaj had a one mile per hr header saved which goalie made look like save of season

Second half though apart from a long range free kick Paton, and Curtis having a instinctive shot after good work by a Hackford what did we do diddly squat that's what we did ,miles behind the play the back 5 all quivering like wrecks, midfield non existent ,does anyone know where they went missing in action .

Lad went first text to me never going again

Says it all

Moore out
