John is a right-footed right back playing at LB isn't he?

I'd go with:

Jesse RB Heneghan Hall Cover LB and if it's a shower, stick Sang on at RB and play a back 5.

No good options though. Jesse would just be given a brief of keeping the shape and being defensive, rather than link up like Cover.

My bet is Shorrock starts, MK watch the tape from Notts and put 50 crosses into the box.

I think Cover could do a job on the left also 👍🏻 I wouldn’t be against Connor Grant either. The issue is he hasn’t featured at all so is going to be extremely rusty that’s if he’s even fit. He’s more than capable at this level though

I’d like to think I’m as upbeat & positive as most but I have a feeling the unbeaten run will come to an end tomorrow. Nothing to do with the manager of the month etc, more so that it isn’t going to last all season & there will be bad days along the way. I’d be more than happy with a point & over the moon with all 3. Really hope I’m wrong & we can make it 8 unbeaten in all competitions & back to back away wins 💪🏻 UTV!

For me when you get injuries we shouldn’t then move further players around to create more weaknesses.
Cover has done well at RWB so leave him there. Got be Shorrock or Grant depending on the opposition. Probably tomorrow given we’re away against a good side I’d go with Grant, if he’s fit

We could go all England and play all the forwards, midfield, forget the defence and play Boomer in goal?

Not played a minute all season. That’s the only issue with Grant mate

Neither had Shorrock had he before Notts?

That said I can see something like Curtis being put there.

Took my son for the first time ever to Wembley last night... said to him jokingly "Not quite Vale Park is it?" as he was in awe at the size and scale of it... full time "told you its like the Vale son!" 😄

If we revert/stick to a 3/5 at the back then Curtis may fit. One thing we have with John and Cover is a bit more pace to help the back 3 and push forward. So hopefully someone who can get back and actually knows how to tackle, will fit in to John's role.

Just hope we can move the ball quickly enough to put them under pressure.

Well, hope you had a great day, think my first visit was when the Schoolboy Internationals were played and LadsandDads ran buses. Think Paul Rideout scored a few.

Think they lost too.

Vale Park has cheaper pies anyway.

Very true. Shorrock hasn’t got an injury record like him either, I know he’s a lot younger. As I said previously I wouldn’t be against Grant slotting in. Maybe he will give both a half 🤷‍♂️ Or as you say give Curtis a run there. He certainly isn’t scared of the fight & likes to get stuck in 👍🏻

Kyle John has been ruled out for a few weeks at least

First time for ages when I've genuinely believed we have a strong squad. I suppose games like this will prove the point. We are unlucky in that our injuries are concentrated more in one area.

Wrong thread

Agree with valiant593, we certainly don't want to be sticking attacking players at full back and even shoving CBs there to accommodate Cover at LB it's a recipe for disaster even for the odd game imo. As then you have 2 people as square pegs in round holes and/or weaker where they are being asked to play which gives the opposition more of a lift.

Need someone who can defend first and foremost then look at going forward as a bonus, John may be right footed naturally but he looked like he could use his left foot fairly well which was good so he is more than adept in both full back positions. Clark similarly when/if he gets fit again.  It's a shame we have the 3 of them out with Hart but that's football I guess.

I'd go with Shorrock or Grant(as said the only issue is he hasn't played at all but the bloke must have some ability at League Two level however pants he's been for us so far so a place on the bench maybe) to keep the balance.  Shorrock held his own last season in 1 or 2 games in the league above(Blackpool at home he was very good).

I think until Hart is fit we will have to stick to 3 at the back, Curtis would surely be a decent Wing Back for instance.
